Jeff Beals said there were a few years in the 90's when KKAR had it with Warren Swain calling the games.

Wow. I didn't see that coming. I guess it is really for coverage of other sports besides football and men's basketball.
KFAB has no affiliate stations?

Yes, they were on KKAR for a number of years. The complaints then were the coverage footprint.

IMO KFAB let their ego get in the way in hand picking what they were going to broadcast. When they pick and choose but still call themselves the Home of the Huskers it should have been home of SOME of the Huskers. They have enough other stations in their family that if they wanted they could ahve broadcast more. What do you bet they never thought they would loose this.

On a Side note, I wonder if Iowa will find another Omaha home.

The big news is that 590 will be carrying all 3 hours of SportsNightly. KFAB only carried 2 because of Glenn Beck.

What is the benefit to airing on AM and FM? Are there some people that have only FM radios?

If you are in a metal building, near power lines, or in a thunder storm...

All that said, 590 has a nice clear signal.
