Mo Watson was named Big East Player of the Week:
Watson averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals last week in a pair of double-figure victories.

Creighton watches a big one go away. Horrible shooting.

Both teams shot terribly. The difference came within the foul situation. Groselle fouling out so early screwed the game.

Bummer, had this win and blew it.

Kinda felt like last year all over again. Great D on the last play just happened that it was on a guy who could win National Player of the Year and has a bad shot fall. The Jays have a favorable schedule in the next week or two so hopefully they can get some W's.

Terrible play by both teams and absoutely horrendous reffing. Creighton shouldn't have allowed Dunn to get that much space on the last shot, 3 of the 5 fouls on Groselle were utter BS, as well as the blocking foul in the last 5 minutes...which was a clear charge on Dunn. All in all, just a terrible game to watch...no matter what team your rooting for.

I agree about the officiating. It was so sporadic, you didn't know what they were going to call next. Even many of the people on the Providence board stated that Creighton got screwed by officiating. Granted, the Jays couldn't hit any shots and that is what ultimately lost them the game. At some point , if they want to contend they are going to need to step up and win one or a few of these games. That is 11 in a row they have lost against the top 10.

Creighton 91
DePaul 80

Much needed conference road win for CU, after spotting DePaul 11.
Zierden gets a career high 31 with 8/11 in threes.
As a team they shot 13/26 in threes.

3 of the Jays 4 Big East conference wins have been on the road. If they can clean up their act at home, this team will definitely exceed expectations..

They're already a better team this year over last that's for sure...

Creighton could really use a win at home against a really good team, had their shot with Providence. Been kind of an odd year in the BE so far, I think the road teams have a winning record.

With Butler playing in Omaha tonight there was a surprise introduction in Lincoln today. Former Husker Head BB coach and current Butler AD was at the Nebraska game today. Barry Collier was introduced on the big screen during a break in the action during the first 1/2 It was really kind of a strange crowd reaction. Somewhere between surprise, confusion, and "what for".
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

When Mo wants to take over a game he can. He can go basket to basket, baseline to baseline faster than anyone I've seen for a long time at CU, even after a made shot....

What I liked the best, the Jays showed toughness down the stretch, played good defense and Watson was clutch.. Now if CU could steal one of these road games at Xavier or Villanova... Of course this Tuesday at Georgetown is huge..

Shoot, they're all big...

Yes, unfortunately in the Big East, they are all big. Every team in the conference could win on any night. Every team except for DePaul and St Johns is either 5-2 or better in conference play or 13-7 or better. Doubt there is another conference in the NCAA that can claim they have 8 teams this good.

Watching Mo Watson in the 1st half....can you imagine how good Dougie could have been with him as a point guard instead of Austin Chatman?
So far 6pts, 5rebs, 5assts with close to 4 min to go before half.

Yep, I know Khyri Thomas is only a freshman, but you either have to get the ball to Zierdan or make one free throw. Between Thomas and Cole Huff....I don't which has less confidence.

Haha what the heck was that? Jays have some bad losses, but this was hard to believe. They win big if they could hit open shots. They even got gifts from officials. And Creighton still finds a way to blow a double digit lead. Coaching and decision making were just awful.

Yes, they did get some fortuitous calls from the officials. Watson could have had 15 assists if players would make the wide open looks he was giving them. I kept thinking...if they won, it would have been b/c of Watson. No one else creates anything. They all just stand around and launch 3's from everywhere.

Sounding like Ochefu might not play for Nova against Creighton. If they play like they did the first 37 of the Georgetown game they could get the W. Mo playing in Philly could be a big factor, needs to not get too hyped and sloppy like in the Hall game.

I don't think there's a hope for Creighton to pull off the upset. I'll be happy to be wrong, but I think the slide continues.

Well that was ugly. My optimism was unwarranted. If they play like this on Saturday DePaul will win. Hope they can find their groove again.

I knew they were going to lose tonight, but that was embarrassing. The team shows no hustle and constantly gets outrebounded.

McDermott's reliance on the 3 is getting to be his downfall. That...and the mysterious lack of defense.

The Depaul game is the tipping point of this season. Win and regain confidence; we may have a shot at the NIT. Lose? Wheels fall off and we might be looking for a new coach.

McDermott has at least one more year left. Since next year's class should rid Creighton of all their old Valley players. This has been a weird season. Picked to finish 9th in the conference, some could argue anything better than that was a success, but since they had such a good conference start, anything less than 5th is disappointing.

If the Jays don't finish in the top 3 next year with Marcus Foster coming in, I think it is time to look for a new coach. I love Coach Mac and think he is great for the university and the community, but he hasn't shown that they can adjust and win a big game. Heck even N. Iowa has 2 wins over top 5 teams this year.

Great win by the Jays today...and they needed it. They got off to a great start and Cole Huff finally had a good Big East game. He had a 10-0 run by himself late in the 1st half and finished with a season high 28 pts on 9-11 shooting in only 22 min. Next up is #6 Xavier, which may be ranked even higher come Tuesday.

Wow, I wasn't following him but after checking him out, it will be nice to have 6'5" shooting guard. With him and Tyshon Alexander, we have an amazing class of shooting guards.

Ballock is ranked 37th in the 2017 class by Rivals, 43rd by ESPN, 49th by 247 Sports and 53rd by Scout.
