Big East losses like that put in jeopardy a 4 bid league...

Looks like UCLA lost as well. Lots of name teams going down early. Condiment State almost lost to Colorado too.

Good to hear the 4-4 finish. After yesterday's blowout games, I was worried the Big East was going to struggle.

The top of the Big East looks strong, Villanova, Butler, Xavier and Georgetown, but the bottom will pull the conference down.

Villanova vs. Indiana would have been a great game. On the other hand, Creighton vs. Nebraska should be a decent one as well (wha, wha, whaaaa).

I agree! I do not know how they chose these lineups but the announcers at the Georgetown vs Maryland matchup were wanting this to be a yearly rivalry like the CU vs NU game.

There could be some other natural rivalries
Ohio St. vs Xavier
Indiana vs Butler
Wisconsin vs Marquette
Northwestern vs DePaul
Rutgers vs St John's
Villanova vs Penn St. er...

I forgot to turn back to this game last night. Neither team looked good in the first half, in fact, a lot of teams really have not looked good at the beginning of this year...

It looks like March Maddness has started early this year, judging by early results of games.

It certainly will be an uphill battle for Wichita. They still have a decent RPI, but once they get into conference play it will get dragged down, but come judgement day, without a good pre-conference win, they could already be a bubble team.

They look horrible so far this year. Granted 2 of their best 3 players didn't play today, but they are now 2-4 with wins only over Charleston Southern and Emporia State. They never should have been ranked in the first place and probably won't be the rest of the season. With the weak conference schedule they have, they won't have a chance to make the tournament unless they go nearly undefeated the rest of the way.

Not quite sure how Georgetown (2-3) or Iowa (4-2) are getting votes in the AP still. Georgetown's only good win is against a not very good Wisconsin team and Iowa lost 2 out of 3, their only win this weekend was against #20 Wichita who is 2-4.
