Jays started slow, but turned it on in the 2nd half with tons of points in the paint. Win by 30, 82-52.

They were favored by 25.. The Jays made the betting public sweat it out for a half before blowing Loyola out in the 2nd half and winning by 30, lol...

With Hansen out for likely the season it was Krampelj that picked up his game and looks like he will play a lot of blow time for Hansen and Patton, who had his coming out party. If Patton is able to put on more beef and keep his skills he will be fun to watch for the next 3 ( hopefully 4 ) years.Patton was 8-8, including a mid range jumper, but most were slams. Krampelj was 5-7 with 5 rebounds including 3 Offensive. Mintz was able to play the point for some good minutes at the end. The last few games CU has opened the bench getting 13 players some time. All good news, and I didn't mention Thomas, Foster, Watson, or Zierden. Going deep into the bench will help going deep into the season.

No question. This has the makings of being perhaps the best CU team of all time.. Time will tell. My expectations are we get into the tournament and get to that elusive "Sweet 16". The Jays do that, then to me, everything else is gravy :thumb: ...

Jays move up to #10 in the AP!

3 Big East teams in the top 10 and not a single Big 10 team.

Foster is Big East player of the week and Patton is Big East Freshman of the week.

Jays pull away again in the second half when they turned up the tempo. Patton went 9 for 10... this kid is crazy good, and he's still so young. I can't wait to see what he's like in his Junior year (hopefully he stays...).

Yes, Patton had a great night. He finished 9-10 with 21 pts and 10 rebs. He now leads the nation in FG%. Mo Watson is second in assists per game. As a team the Jays are second in FG% and 1st in 3P%.

Just looked and last night was only the second time in team history that the Jays played a home game while ranked in the top 10. The only other time was Jan 20th, 2003. They went on to lose the next game vs Illinois St and fell out of the top 10. Saturday will mark the 2nd straight home game while ranked in the top 10. Should be a good crowd on Saturday considering the top 10 ranking and one of only 2 saturday night games this year.

Hard to believe, but this is the first 8-0 start in the McDermott era at Creighton.

Last time they stared this good, you know who ended it???? Greg McDermott when he was at UNI!

Also, Watson set the Assists record tonight for CenturyLink Center Omaha.

I think the Bluejays last 8-0 start was 2003 or 2004.. It's been awhile...

Creighton didn't move in today's AP poll. Still 10th. Xavier and VA fell out of the top 10 but Indiana and UCLA moved ahead of the Jays.

College basketball undefeated teams: Who's overrated, underrated, rightly rated?
Creighton Bluejays (8-0)
Hard for some to see Creighton as a Final Four team at the moment. For that alone, CU deserves to be in the underrated category. The Bluejays' offense is as fun to watch as almost any in America. The back court of Mo Watson Jr. and Marcus Foster is top-five -- maybe top-three -- in the country. Creighton's non-conference rank is 155, but it has wins over Wisconsin, North Carolina State and Akron, three teams I think are in the bracket come Selection Sunday. The Big East is very good this year, and a big part of the elevation is Creighton's rise. Interesting test Wednesday at Nebraska.
Last time they started 8-0: 2003-04
Dana Altman, now at Oregon, was coaching the Jays back then. CU wound up going 20-9 that season, and after a 12-0 start, missed the NCAAs.

Article from ESPN:

A change of scenery has done wonders for Marcus Foster at Creighton

Big game tonight @ Nebraska, hopefully the Jays come in ready to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

I'll probably die a little on the inside if Nebraska pulls the upset. Listening to Nebrasketball fans (or rather some of them, but not all) is never a good thing.

OUCH

I will be at the game tonight as I am for almost all home Husker men's BB games. That being said I do not give the Huskers much of a chance but you never know. No matter what the outcome tonight I will go on record right now as saying at this point in time, and it has been for some time, the Jays are the better BB team. My optimism is that someday that will not be the case but it is not honest to look at history and say otherwise. Here's to a little Pinnacle Magic tonight!!! :punch:

Creighton, after surviving Korean War Style Chinese human wave attacks from Nebraska finally set the pace in the second half. 77-62 win.

The Bluejays owned the 2nd half.. and at about the 11 minute mark, basically cruised to a 15 point win..

I give NU credit, they hung in for all the first half and for about 6 or so minutes into the 2nd.. But foul trouble and cream rising to the top prevailed...

Which led to several people asking where all the fans went, and then I replied with that photo saying they left at the 3:20 mark.

That has been there norm this season and starting a lot last season. There are also a number of open "sold out" seats now again. I am guessing that will not help the Tim Miles cause.

By the way, Nice game last night Jays. Went about as I expected except for the run where the Huskers closed the game in the last 10 Min of the first half. That was a bit of a surprise.

The game was poorly officiated too. Now don't that that wrong, that is not what decided the game. If I take off my Husker glasses IMO the bad calls went about even both ways.

CU wins 113-58.
Set Arena record for most points.
And a CU record for largest margin of win.

It was the largest margin of victory since 2002. The third largest margin of victory in school history. Great to see the starters put up some good numbers in quick minutes and then get some rest.

Sounds like he would be eligible to play in the 2nd semester next year. Maybe the Jays are preparing just in case either Patton or Zach Hanson don't come back. Also, it should help having another big body in practice for this season.

They out zoned Syracuse's zone. I don't know what to think of them. However, they do not have a bad loss yet this year.

Losing to Arkansas State at home isn't a bad loss?
