Jays needed that for confidence, probably the most important win of the season... Now gotta win at home vs Xavier!

What a great win....these are the games that I love. Go in feeling like a loss is almost a certainty and come out with a W. Great all around team play. Also helps win they finally broke out of the 3pt slump shooting 13-21 from 3.

For the most part it seemed like they were clicking really well last night. Hopefully they can keep growing as a team and finish out the season strong.

Agreed..

The Bluejays beat Xavier this Saturday afternoon at Century Link, I believe I can put the gas can away for good..

Jays blowing out DePaul...up by 31 with 5 min to go.

Edit: Now up by 40 with less than 2 min to go.

Jays ended up winning by 35, 93-58. 24 assts and 5 guys in double figure scoring. Patton had a career-high 11 rebs. Thomas had 12 pts, 7 assts and 5 rebs.

If Nova holds off Xavier, Creighton will move back into 2nd place in the conference.

That was a monster dunk, as was Khyri Thomas' as well.

I am just glad they beat DePaul like they should of. We have to close out strong with the schedule that remains ahead. It's favorable if the Jays play like they are capable of doing.

Agreed.. At Seton Hall this Wednesday. CU has been clutch on the road this year. Let's hope that trend continues...

Trending up again..

Big game tonight at Seton Hall. The Bluejays are 10-1 away from Omaha this season, so another clutch road win would be fantastic. If CU sweeps this week, they could see themselves back within the top 15...

As much as I would love that, probably not going to happen unless they sweep this week and a few teams above them fall.

Don't want to look too far ahead, but Sunday's game vs Georgetown only has 5 tickets left.

The magic of this year faded quickly. Kinda shocked at how lost McDermott seems sometimes with substitutions.... Also, pretty good disparity in FT, but it is what it is.

What a terrible game for Creighton. Foster let the ball roll right by on an inbounds and a chance to close on a 4pt deficit. Jays didn't deserve this one. Seton Hall was much more aggressive and they had 39 FT attempts to Creighton's 13. Also gave up 41 pts to Carrington. Foster did have a good game though with 23 pts, 6 rebs and 6 assts.

Jays also tied for 2nd place in the conference with Xavier and Butler.

Going to be seeded in the 7 thru 10 range. Could get hot from range and get to the sweet 16, but could easily be bounced in the first round. Such an incredible bummer after the incredible start when Mo went down. This team is not the deepest or the most talented, but was built incredibly when Mo was in. There was just an impressive collection of skill sets and Mo being gone has completely derailed the season.

We will look back years from now and say "what if."

This team is talented, but in many ways that talent is either young or needs one more year to gel together as a team, which was Mo's major talent. We will look back next year and think "Oh damn", but it's not the end of anything.

The last of the valley talent will work its way out this year as well.

This is my stance as well. The guys recruited for the Valley should be done (Hanson and Zierdan this year and Hegner next year) I feel like next year's team could be as explosive if not more so if Patton decides to come back. Of course that is a big if. But other than losing Watson, which we already have, there is no one of amazing talent leaving (Cole Huff is also graduating, but he hasn't shown anything consistently). Foster, Thomas, Mintz are all back and we get to add TyShon Alexander and Mitch Ballock to the mix. Not to mention Kaleb Joseph (the Syracuse transfer) being eligible at point.

Not so good stat:

Creighton's record in the past 3 seasons when games are decided by 6 pts or less:

16-17: 2-2 .500
15-16: 1-8 .111
14-15: 3-10 .231

Total: 6-20 .231

It's been filled and ready to go for close to 6 weeks now.. Thankfully, the Bluejays disposing of Georgetown this afternoon will allow it to collect more dust...

That was Foster's most complete game of the year and possibly of his career. The 35 pts were a career-high.

Still not sure how VA is ranked 18th though with an 18-8 record before the poll was released. They have since lost again and are now 18-9 with 4 consecutive losses. If that was Creighton, they wouldn't even be getting any votes in the poll.

The Jays have been on a quest to find different, mind-numbingly stupid ways to blow winnable basketball games at home :koko: ..

This latest may be the biggest "gem".. Awaiting the inevitable beatdown on the road this coming weekend at Villanova.. The Bluejays are on the apex of letting another promising season flush right down the drain...

This season was gone largely when Watson went down and McDermott decides on Clement Clement Hands of Cement and Isaiah Zierden.

I'm comfortable with next year at this point, however.....should Patton return.

I would agree.. But if he decides to bolt for the NBA, you have that definite uneasy feeling for next year..

Should JP return for one more college basketball season? Of course. He'd benefit greatly from it.. physically his body is still growing and filling out. Will he return? I'd say it's probably 50-50 at this point..

The fork is sharpening and ready to penetrate the Bluejays this season, unfortunately.. Who would have thought that about 6 or so weeks ago :despond: ...

I'm confident he will return, but I haven't been right much on this weird season.
