Denver Nuggets to hold preseason training camp at Creighton
The Denver Nuggets are coming to Omaha for a week. The NBA franchise announced Tuesday that it will hold a six-day training camp at Creighton from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2.

It's the second straight year that the Nuggets have gone off-site to train in the preseason (they were at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, last year).

Couple of notes about the Jays:

» Creighton and Missouri will meet for a closed scrimmage at the end of the month.

» Bluejay Madness, Creighton’s open scrimmage for fans, isn’t likely to happen this year, McDermott said. There was some uncertainty about the team’s health a few weeks back when the CU staff began discussing the event. But the final decision hasn’t yet been made, McDermott said.

I would hope they could work something out to have Bluejay Madness. It is the fan's chance to get an up close view of the team and also allows for players and coaches to sign autographs after the event. As a season-ticket holder, I love getting to see the team up close and talk to the players, even if it is only for a few seconds.

Yeah, as a season ticket holder in the upper reaches of Section 221, I can echo the sentiment that Bluejay Madness is a much appreciated chance to see the team up close.
My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.

I emailed Rob Anderson (sports information director) about my desire to see Bluejay Madness continue, and he said he appreciates the support and that he will forward on to those in charge of making a decision. Glad, that they at least seem responsive and will pass my thoughts on. I especially love it for my kids to get a chance to see the players up-close and get pictures taken.

1. Villanova (9) 81 pts.
2. Xavier (1) 69
3. Creighton 64
T4. Georgetown 53
T4. Seton Hall 53
6. Butler 44
7. Marquette 35
8. St. John's 21
9. Providence 18
10. DePaul 12
Creighton is the coaches’ pick for third place in the poll with 64 points. The Bluejays put together a 20-15 season in 2015-16 and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NIT. Coach Greg McDermott’s team finished 9-9 in BIG EAST play. This season, the Bluejays can boast a strong backcourt that includes senior Maurice Watson Jr., who earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors after averaging 14.1 points and a league-leading 6.5 assists. He will be joined by junior Marcus Foster, a transfer who was a double-figure scorer in two seasons at Kansas State.

Beyond McBuckets: Creighton, Greg McDermott continue to work out of Doug’s shadow
Even as Creighton’s success has dipped the last two years, they’ve routinely filled the 17,000-seat CenturyLink Center near capacity. The appetite for a winner could very well be met this year.

“(Fans) are so hungry for that,” Foster said. “I feel like they’re even hungrier this year because we have a team that’s going to be considered one of the best teams to ever play here. I think they’re definitely itching.”

I already have my season tickets but just thought I would check ticketmaster for the Wisconsin game...there are less than 75 tickets remaining. Even for tonight's exhibition, it appeared that there are less 1,000 left. Probably not going to be quite as good as McDermott's senior year, but I think there could be some decent demand for tickets to games this year.

That was almost a collapse of biblical proportions there in the second half. If they do that Tuesday, they will get run right out of the arena. No idea what happened.

Yeah.. CU was up 28 points with 13 minutes left, then got outscored 34-13 and ended up winning by 7..

That would have been an epic collapse indeed.. Give UMKC credit. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for the Bluejays...

Me too, but unfortunately all my "Full Arena" photos are either 12:00-5:00 in the first half or 15:00-10:00 in the second half. Omaha (Not just Creighton) is such an arrive late, leave early town...

I am really excited for tonight. Going to be a great test to show how all the new pieces fit together early.

Just too bad they have to go up against 2 huge matchups on the 4 letter network. Probably not a lot of casual eyes outside of Big East and Wisconsin fans.

I've got a bad feeling about this game; not sure what to make of it. Wisconsin has a pretty good defense, and Creighton is very dependent on 3pt shots falling...and just a rthym of offense.

I am expecting an L hopeful for a W. Creighton has so many new pieces that need to gel and Wisconsin brought back practically their entire team from last year. I think I saw that their top 9 scorers from last season all returned. An early season matchup favors the experienced team with chemistry.

Completely agree with you Jacob. Experience is favored in these types of situations. Creighton is not as dependent on the 3 as much as they have been in the past. Sure they will still shoot quite a few every game, but there are also play makers like Watson and Foster on the team that are able to get to the rim if need be. I just hope that Foster doesn't settle too much for the 3.

Article from Fox Sports about Kobe Paras:

Meet Kobe Paras: Filipino matinee idol, turned Creighton basketball star

As mentioned before, he has over 114,000 followers on twitter and 450,000 on instagram. He could really help to elevate Creighton's international exposure.
