Where does the time fly to? Rodney Buford playing for the Bluejays back in 1995/96 as a Freshman..

It doesn't seem like that long ago.. Wowzers...

I was shocked when I woke up this morning. I fell asleep at half time and both teams were playing bad, never thought I would wake up to a 12 point win.

Good win last night. There were numerous times where Khyri saved us. Thankfully the free throw shooting didn't hurt us. Creighton only shot 61%, meanwhile Providence was worse at only 54%. In the second half, Providence had 15 turnovers and only 1 assist.

I think if they win tonight, they get a 6 seed.

I really think they handle X tonight. Their home losses to Providence and Xavier in the regular season were incredibly similar late game collapses. I think they have them figured out and will win by double digits again.

So true. JP played great in the 2nd half and Marcus Foster was clutch. That was a great college basketball game..

I think I'll continue my recent trend, and pick to Jays to lose again tomorrow.. :;): ...

Wow, what a finish. Glad that Foster made that one. There was still 7-8 seconds on the clock if he missed. The last time we won a game by decided by 4pts or less was against Oral Roberts on Dec 17th.

It's a bummer that Nova ending up winning. That said, even more glad Foster made that shot, I was mentally preparing for a last second Xavier half court 3 for the win.

Jays just need to play like there is nothing to lose...because really, there isn't. Hope for a win or closer than 9 points at least.

Not a good game for the Jays. They needed to shoot well to win and that didn't happen. Ronnie played great and with 5-6 min left he was leading the team in pts, rebs, assts and steals in only 12 min of action.

Game could have been much worse, we were down 20 and pulled back to within 12, but couldn't sustain anything.

Ultimately, I suppose we have to remember that Nova is likely the number 1 overall seed, or very very close to it. I guess I wasn't expecting much from the start, and it went about as I thought.

Onto the tourney, I hope they get a 6 seed so they can win a game at least.

Creighton gets 6th seed Vs Rhode Island.

Potential second round with 3 seed Oregon...

I think for once Creighton got fairly seeded and I would much rather play Oregon than Baylor or UCLA in the second round.

Win a couple NCAA tournament games and get to that elusive sweet 16..

Fingers crossed for that one...

I have to admit the Mo Valley got screwed. Wichita as a 10? Illinois St left out?
Wisconsin getting an 8? Having to play Nova in the second? Birth got screwed.
I'm glad for a 6, but paired with Dana in the second (if they get past RI) is like
Creighton (Dougie) getting paired with his HS sweetheart in NC a few years ago...

You'd think one of these years, the Bluejays could break their "glass ceiling" and advance to the Sweet 16.. The Jays could easily lose to Rhode Island and be one and done.. Making it a bitterly dissapointing end to another promising season...

Honestly, outside of like 10 teams, all of the schools in the tourney are 'legit' to a large extent. Of all the 11 seeds, however, I think Creighton matches well with URI.

As for the Mo Valley schools, it's a horridly weak conference. They were seeded where they needed to be and left out where they needed to be left out. Glad we don't have to suffer that any longer.

I agree, don't have to sweat it out after having a great overall record. This year, Creighton's conference record was only 10-8 yet they get the 6 seed. In the Valley-no chance of making the dance. Granted it is also easier to schedule quality non-conference opponents now as well.

Missouri Valley is really going to die when Wichita State bolts for the AAC. I could see USD, SDSU, or UNO getting in invite when that happens though.

This was supposed to be our (Creighton's) Final Four year until Mo Watson tore his ACL

Anyways,

URI is a good defensive team. We're 1 pt favorites right now, and URI is a popular upset pick. Personally I have us beating URI and Oregon. Beating Oregon is very unlikely, but what's March Madness without some homer picks? Oregon just lost Boucher, but they still played Arizona VERY close.

What I don't get is why we don't run a basic inside-out offense more often. The team/roster is perfectly built for inside-out basketball with Patton and Hanson--force feed them in the paint until they start drawing help, at which point they can kick out to literally anyone on the court for a 3pt shot.

CU adds another 4* to the 2017 class. This one a 6'11" Center that is skilled, but needs to put on weight. Same HS team as 5* Brian Bowen who the Jays are in the final 3 with Arizona and Michigan St.

3 four star players, all top 100 or top 50, with a chance at a 5 star who is top 25.

I will take that any day of the week. The recruiting effort by McDermott and Co' has been remarkable.

Jacob Epperson is his name, 6'11, 190lbs so he will need to add some weight, but he can do that in the gym.

Another great recruit coming to Creighton. By the way, he is now listed at either 210 or 215 lbs. Still skinny though. He stated that he liked the way that Creighton developed Patton who is now a potential lottery pick.

I also love the demeanor of the new recruits as well. It is obvious that Creighton also looks for guys that will gel with the current team.

The Bluejays were out played, out hustled and out coached.. URI went wire to wire, lead the entire way..

And JP is NOT ready for the NBA. He played weak and fouled out.. Marcus Foster missing easy layups and rushing jumpers..

A bitter and embarrassing loss for CU..ending such a promising 18-1 start to the season :despond: ...

JP needs to come back, he needs to develop consistency in play. Foster may or may not come back, and that is what it is.

Next Year:

Positives:

JP More experience
Khyri more experience
Mintz more experience
Hegner Comes back
Addition of the Syracuse transfer who's name I am blanking on right now
Hope all recruits sign and get to campus
We lose Zierden and Clement
Hopefully Ronnie Harrell comes back
Hopefully Paras and Krampelj come back.

Negatives:

Watson graduates/gets sent to jail
Hanson graduates
Cole Huff graduates (although I don't think he ever lived up to potential, oddly enough)
