And to add to crazy the Huskers received 1 Point in the Coached poll to be on the list of others receiving voted. Wonder who that vote was?

So far Nebraska has played kenpom ranked teams 5, 12, 21, 22, 24, 31, 39, and 58. That is an absolutely brutal schedule for any team this early in the season.

Yeah that was definitely a fantastic non conference schedule, plus starting with Indy and Maryland on the road. Can't remember NU ever playing anything like it to start the season.

Iowa 74
Nebraska 74 (OT)

FT shooting is killing NU (8-19).
Could have won the game but went 0-2 with 0:01

Peter Jok fouls out.

Yes it would have been.

Also, listening to the Post game driving home from the game it was Kent Pavelka's second year of doing the PbP for Husker BB. Missed a few years of him doing it a few years back but he has called many of the games through all that time.

I am glad the Huskers won....still can't believe that in the 2nd overtime, Iowa got called for an offensive foul and 1 sec later the Iowa player tipped the ball in and the refs counted it. There is no way that bucket should have counted. You could clearly see the ref with his hand up calling the foul. On a play like this, they need to use the replay.

Yeah I thought that was really odd as well.

And people were ready to run Tim Miles out of town a couple weeks ago.

I hate firing people and coaches but there was definite reason for concern. The Gardner Webb loss and others in the past like Incarnate Word, to go the struggles in conference. I'm definitely in his corner but I don't have a problem with those that were starting to say he was on the hot seat.

The key for him is to sustain the success for the rest of the season. Obviously there will be losses but NU really should finish in the top half or better of the Big 10 this year, and either make NCAA's or be in the discussion.

This is not a bad thing, that pressure caused him to switch up his scheme and use players he was previously not giving playing time. Kudos to Miles adapting and not just keep running the scheme he is comfortable with.

Even Miles knew changes needed to be made. Was surprised he has given up his twitter game.

Also love how Dirk in the Weird Herald pumps up the win as a "Unforgettable Night"; Iowa lost to Summit League bottom half UNO.

Morrow was game ready for this afternoon's great win over #20 Purdue.
They were oversized in a few match ups but still handled them well.

Hasn't it been this way for a while though? Go on losing streak, then upset someone they "shouldn't"?

Sort of. It years past it would seem we'd do that once (a very unexpected win). This year, several.

Yes there is a pattern but what is gone this year is the REAL blowouts and the wins over top teir teams has been more than just once. Now to just get rid of the losses to the likes of Gardner Webb.

The trend is moving up IMO.

So...the Huskers have done something that a lot of celebrities have not, they beat 2016?

Or is it because the Big 10 isn't incredibly strong this year?

Interesting article from Lee B this morning:

Weak response (in my opinion) from Mark Boehm:

While I agree with what Boehm is saying for the most part, it is strange that you never hear from him when the OWH talks about Miles' hot(or not hot) seat, but when Boehm himself gets called out he has to defend himself.

When Lee B spelled out Nebraska's record since Boehm arrived, you realize how crazy good Nebraska's basketball support is. They have been really bad yet still getting 14k for games.

Well that was fun

Got the see the Huskers go down at home on senior night last night to Mich in record setting fashion. Biggest home loss ever in the history of the program. As bad as the history of the program has been that is a HUGE achievement. :(
