Web.com Golf tour and Indian Creek

Post by nebugeater »

Looks like Indian Creek in Elkhorn will play host to at least one future Web.com tour event

http://www.omaha.com/sports/local-golf/ ... d6b0b.html
Officials from the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour are to be at Indian Creek, a 27-hole public golf course in the Elkhorn area, for a press conference at 10 a.m. Monday "to share details regarding a major sporting event coming to Omaha."

Great news. Summer hasn't been quite the same since the Cox Classic left.

There is a big event their this weekend, so I'm glad they chose to piggy back on them.

Good get for Indian Creek. There is plenty of space there for spectators and just a couple years ago they renovated the course. It probably will bring more of a challenge than Champions for the players as well.

Elkhorn’s Indian Creek expected to host future Web.com Tour golf tournament
Stu Pospisil / World-Herald staff writer wrote:Expect this to be a Web.com Tour tournament sponsored by Pinnacle Bank and held at Indian Creek.

...The Omaha Classic quickly became one of the tour’s most successful tournaments for attendance and financial support. Most years, it was played in early August and televised on the Golf Channel. The 2013 tournament offered an $800,000 purse, with playoff winner Bronson La’Cassie collecting $144,000.
