Interesting Transfer Pitcher to the Huskers announced yesterday.

RHP
Matt Warren
Graduate Transfer from Creighton

Wonder what drives him to not finish out his College career with the Jays.

Looking at the Schedule and seeing the 2017 B1G tourney location being listed as TBD got me thinking. When the extension for Omaha was announced 2017 was not included or announced. I do not recall an announcement yet and a quick search didn't find a 2017 location. have I missed someting or is it not announced yet?

Was 2017 supposed to be the last year the Big East tournament has theirs in Omaha?

That is what I understood, it was the last of the agreement.

Find it interesting that the B1G has not named a 2017 location yet so I wounder what is in the works.

For the Years that the B1G is at TDA:
I know it is the Jays home field and all but the seating works for the B1G draw. If I remember correctly Werner Park was talking to the B1G at some point. I think it would be neat if the B1G was at TDA and the Big East was at Werner at the same time.

Well opening day is here. All three local teams open with the obvious road games in Feb. Lets see what happens between now at the CWS and get a couple local teams at least into regional!

Nebraska splits the first two games, not too bad. Love being able to just relax and listen to them on the radio again.

Incredible pitching performance in the 1-0 win over Arizona. Our pitching seems solid this year, offense definitely struggling though. Hopefully it heats up with the weather here.

After the win over the Jays last night in Lincoln, NU comes to Omaha to face UNO at Werner Park. Too bad the weather doesn't look good. Seems like they get poor weather for this match up every year.

Greg

If I remember right last year was COLD

Last night against the Jays the 10 runs that the Huskers scored in the second inning was only the third time in the history of the program that they had scored 10 runs in an inning. I believe it was 15 batters that came to the plate.

Yeah last's years game was cold. Not as bad this year but it was still in the 40's by the end of the game.

NU wins over UNO but a much better game than Tuesday.

Huge series this weekend against Maryland, hopefully NU can ride this momentum.

Agreed. Playing well but the weekend games are so much more important than the mid weeks. Strange finish to last weekends series with having the game 3 end in tie due to travel.

Thankfully Nebraska avoided a sweep with the comeback win Sunday. Saturday was their largest crowd in years.

Good win by Creighton last name. Even with the new baseballs, TD still seems too big (meaning how it plays). I also last night could not find anywhere on the scoreboard where they display the pitch count.

Actually the ball is flying out at TD this year. 10 Home Runs in 15 games has shattered the numbers from the previous years.

For comparisons sake Haymarket has had 13 HRs in 16 games while being a much smaller and hitter friendly park.

The numbers will only continue to climb once the weather warms up as well.

It will be interesting to see how the two compare at the end of the season, and to see how the HR's play at the CWS.

Nebraska baseball student-athletes and Head Coach Darin Erstad were honored by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday, as the league office released the 2017 All-Big Ten Honors.

Erstad was named Big Ten Coach of the Year for the first time in his career after leading the Huskers to their first Big Ten regular-season title. Jake Meyers (utility) and Scott Schreiber (designated hitter) were first-team picks, while Angelo Altavilla (shortstop) and Jake Hohensee (starting pitcher) were third-team choices. Third baseman Luke Roskam was an unanimous pick for the All-Freshman team and Ben Miller was Nebraska’s Sportsmanship Award recipient.
