YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

CU FINALLY defeats 'Nova, the #3 ranked team in college basketball. After 8 seasons at the helm, I'd argue this one is truly Coach Mac's "signature" win.. This one might save the Jays from becoming NIT bound.. Still, I'd like to see a couple of wins in the Big East Tournament..

Huge win for Coach Mac and the Jays :banger:   ...

Sweet Jesus, hopefully this gets them out of the funk they've been in.

Just win at Marquette and take care of Depaul at home.

And all this without Harrell and Hegner's bad ankles. Ballock and Epperson played huge.
#3 Villanova is the highest ranked team Creighton has ever beaten.
1963 #4 Arizona St. 2014 #4 Villanova were the previous highs

Can't wait to see Epperson and Krampelj next year on the floor at the same time.

At several points during this game, I believe they had 3 newcomers on the floor. Huge for experience. :leek:

Maybe, just maybe, this gives them the confidence they need to finish strong.

Wow, what a win.

First win over a Top 3 opponent
First win on Fox
2nd season in a row we have 4 wins over ranked teams

I had an Iowa fan attend from out of town and he absolutely loved the game as well. 4-0 when he has been to Bluejay games!

Huge shot by Mitch with 33 seconds left. Great to see him break out of his funk these past two games.

I have been waiting for a win like this for so long. Glad to be a Jay fan!

Marquette got a huge road win against Georgetown in OT, 90-86 this evening, making them a solid bubble team, with something to play for when Creighton comes calling.

THROUGH THE GOOD TIMES AND BAD, ON THE COURT AND OFF, TOBY HEGNER HAS LEARNED TO APPRECIATE THE MOMENT AS HE PREPARES FOR HIS LAST ONE IN OMAHA
“And you can’t give enough appreciation to the city of Omaha and the fans … we’re sitting in our gym right now and it says ‘17,000 Strong’ and when you think about [the Villanova game], that’s exactly what that was. Omaha helped us win that game. It wasn’t just us, it was everybody. That’s something that I’m always going to cherish.

For tonight's senior night, it is a whiteout (probably nothing like the whiteouts vs Wichita, but the first 6,000 fans get a free white t-shirt)

Also the first $10 for students at the concession stand is on Coach Mac per his twitter.

He definitely always played above and beyond. I think in many ways he was part of a great bridge to the Big East.

I would have to disagree. He has the range that Wragge did, but other than that not much else reminds me of him. Ballock can rebound and pass, while Wragge was solely a spot up shooter. Wragge was also 2 inches taller. Ballock is a much more complete player.

Also noticed that last night's attendance was 18,191, which gave the Jays exactly 306,000 fans for the season. That is their highest total ever! (still think that someone fibbed the numbers a little though to get it evenly)

Yeah, I didn't get that either. Not even close to full. I get that its tickets sold, but at 5pm there were still 200 tickets left.

Here's what it looked like:

Nova held off Seton Hall 69-68 in OT. Butler and Providence also lost, so the Jays currently have sole possession of 3rd place in the conference.

Jays were up 10 with a min to go in the 1st half. Only lead by 5 at half. The lead was back to 11, but now its a 4 pt game again. Hopefully they don't give this one away like the one in Omaha. Only shooting 4-10 from the line doesn't help.

Still can't beat Marquette. Let them rain threes all day.

Have to not upset down their legs in the first round of the Big East tourney.

Disappointing 85-81 loss. Double disappointed with getting swept by Marquette by a grand total of less than 10 points in 2 games..

Be careful what you wish for is the clique.. But call me crazy-

I’d like the Jays to see Marquette for a 3rd time this season.. Something about the 3rd time being the charm comes to mind...

I badly wanted a Creighton win...now they have to play @ 1:30 on Thursday, with a win, they would have played at 8:30.

Khyri Thomas had a great first half offensively, by far the best offensive half he has ever played, but he only scored 5 in the 2nd half. Hopefully Harrell is back for the Big East Tournament. For a team already hurting for height, it doesn't help to have a 6'7" guy out for 3 consecutive games.

Once again, like a few other times in the past few weeks, if the Jays would have won, they would more than likely been ranked in both polls, granted this time of year, no one cares.

I know. It’s just frustrating because the Jays lost 2 games to them by a grand total of 8 points.. Eight! Arrrgh..

I don’t think you’re a wuss for not wanting to play them again Martin.. But I have a feeling if CU meets them a 3rd time, they will slay that beast...
