At least through the first half, I was right about Creighton easily handling UT Arlington. The Jays were up by 20. Unfortunately they got sloppy in the 2nd half but still held on to lead for the majority of the game.

What a game by Foster in front of all those scouts there to see Hervey.

Coach said that first half was the best half of Basketball that they have played all season.

Jays set an arena record with their 3rd highest score in program history with 116 pts last night. They also hit 19 3's and had a program record of 32 assists.

I think they finished ahead of where many picked them to be record wise in the non-conference part of the schedule, 10-2.

Not that 20 is a magic number for an NCAA trip, but its a nice round number. 4 wins against DePaul and Georgetown, two losses to Nova and split everyone else gets them to 10-8 and 20 wins on the year. I could easily see them taking both from Providence who is struggling to get to 11-7 in conference play.

True to form, they fail in the second half and lose. If basketball was a one half game, Creighton would be final four...but alas, it isn't.

Angel Delgado was flat in the first half but he stepped it up in the second half and showed why he is destined to become a star NBA center. He was too much to handle in the middle for Creighton.......And then Delgado fouled out. With Delgado gone Creighton had a good chance of winning. Foster was a dud in the end when Creighton needed a scorer.

Same old story for Creighton in the 2nd half. In each of their 3 games, they have led by either double digits or the majority of the game only to choke at the end. The only game they haven't led the majority was the Nebraska game.

Last night, Foster and Thomas were a combined 2-13 with 4 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assts, and 3 fouls. They also shot 0-4 from 3. That isn't going to get it done. I will admit, they both had great first halfs, but they are going to have to figure out how to get out of this 2nd half slump.

One really bright spot was Krampelj. He was almost unstoppable while he was on the floor, unfortunately he kept getting into foul trouble. He finished with a career-high 23 pts on 11-16 shooting. He and Ronnie also grabbed 10 boards each.

Providence 64
Creighton 83

Creighton led wire to wire with all five starters in double digits.
Providence had won 3 straight in Omaha.
The last 5 minutes took a half an hour...

Noticed yesterday that some of the guys in the lane would catch a pass under the bucket and have a look on their face like "Why the heck did you just pass that to me" which is most cases led to a missed shot or a turnover. Never noticed that like I did yesterday.

Are you referring to the some of the guys that Ronnie passed the ball to? He got into the lane several times and made a great pass, but the guy wasn't ready for it. I noticed this at least twice with Toby. If you are gunna cut to the lane, you have to at least somewhat be ready to receive the ball.

St. John's is top 10 in creating turn overs and in blocked shots. They are a team with long arms and they showed it last night, but it should have been something they should have been aware of.

What a game last night. The atmosphere was non-existent in the 1st half, and for good reason. Thankfully the Jays (and Echenique) gave the crowd something to cheer about and they did. That was the loudest its been in there so far this season.

Creighton finally wins AT Georgetown; this time they absolutely crushed them, 90 to 66. Probably the best I've seen them play so far this season.

Absolutely essential they got this win, considering the next three games. vs Butler, at Xavier, vs Seton Hall. Wouldn't surprise me to see 1-2 through that stretch.

A good win, had to hold home court. Tough sledding coming up with the next two.

How awesome has Martin Krampelj been? Dare I say he's filled the shoes left by Patton wonderfully.

Wow, what a game and especially first half for the Jays. Foster was on fire. Khyri had a monster dunk as well (#3 on SportsCenter Top 10). This team is so fun to watch. Jays in first place in the Big East momentarily.

It was getting a bit dicey.. Especially with less than 4 minutes left and the Jays couldn’t get a stop.. But to their credit, they hung in there and showed enough mental toughness to pull away for the win against a good Butler team...

Lunardi's latest Bracketology has 6 Big East team going dancing:

1 Seed Villanova
3 Seed Xavier
5 Seed Seton Hall
6 Seed Creighton
9 Seed Butler
10 Seed Marquette

Providence is listed as a next four out.
Creighton is listed in the Nashville region against either 11 seed Baylor or Georgia
And then North Carolina to go on to the second week.
They have several big games coming up that could get them a higher bid...

Creighton getting run out of the gym in the first half. Guess that's why Xavier is top ten.

Maybe Xavier can pull a Creighton and fall apart in the second half?

20 turnovers, too many missed bunnies, no face breaks, and no focus killed any chance of a competitive game.

Xavier- 92
Creighton- 70. :what: ..

An absolutely PATHETIC performance by the Jays this afternoon- Getting run out of Dodge on the road at Xavier. It’s not so much that they lost.. It’s how they lost..

Again- Pathetic...
