Maurice Watson went to court yesterday and basically his lawyers got him off with a plea deal. He says he wants to come back to Omaha and Creighton. Thankfully so far Creighton has been cold to the idea of letting him come back. Creighton letting Maurice Watson come back would be like the NFL welcoming OJ back into the fold after he got off. Aint happening!

Really? Comparing Watson to OJ is not a fair comparison at all...... even for gramps.

To NC State, an Adidas school, I wonder if anything fishy is going on here.

Top 5 Australian freshmen entering the 2017-18 college basketball season

JACOB EPPERSON (CREIGHTON)

Epperson’s rise seemingly came out of nowhere, and, after winning a national championship with La Lumiere High School, the big-man is set to make an impact at Creighton.

Whether that happens in his freshman year is still yet to be determined. The 6’11 centre still needs to add size to his frame, and just become more physically imposing, but the foundation is there for him to put together an impressive college career.

In his first year, look for Epperson to be a big body off the bench for Greg McDermott’s relatively small team.

Creighton lost their closed scrimmage to Minnesota 79-91. Marcus Foster scored 19 and Martin Krampelj had 16.

Minnesota is preseason #15 in the Coaches poll, so this wasn't the worst of outcomes for the game.

College Basketball’s Best Backcourts
11. CREIGHTON: Marcus Foster, Khyri Thomas, Davion Mintz, Kaleb Joseph, Tyler Clement, Ty-Shon Alexander, Mitchell Ballock: Marcus Foster will put up all-american numbers this season and Khyri Thomas may actually be the single-most under-appreciated player in college basketball, but until we know the answer at the point, Creighton will have serious question marks

Speaking for myself, I would love to go to the game, but on such short notice and not being part of the Creighton season ticket package, I am not able to fit it into my schedule. Hopefully they get around 10-12,000 for the game. There should be a loud crowd there since most people attending will be the diehard fans.

All things considered I think they did great on attendance. Short notice, weeknight and such.

Creighton puts Yale away, 92 to 76. Good opening win, and good preparation for what's upcoming in Northwestern, UCLA, etc.

The refs are out of control in this Alcorn St. game.
CU leads 49-36 at halftime, but they have called 31 total fouls so far, 8 offensive.
Foster and Thomas have only played 17 minutes.
With 26 total TOs, don't watch film on this game.

It was a good win after that terrible first half by the refs last night.

Now the real season starts in a hurry. The Jays now play 4 Top 25 teams in their next 5 games, with none of them coming at home. Lets hope they at least earn a split or better.

Jays were up by as much as 15 in the first half. Got behind a few times in the 2nd, but 2 big 3's by Foster and some great play from Khyri and Martin. Jays win their first game vs a top 25 team this year. Next up is #23 UCLA in KC on Monday.

Big night for Khyri with 24 pts, 11 rebs, and 5 assts.

Creighton is the first non-ranked team to beat a Top 25 team this season.

One more stat:
Career high in pts for 4 Jays: Khyri (24), Martin (17), Ty-Shon (14), and Manny (8)!

Creighton comes in at 35th in AP poll and 28th in the Coaches poll. If they can win their tournament tonight and tomorrow, or at least have a very strong showing, they might be ranked next week.

If they win the tourney they will definitely be ranked. If they go 1 and 1, they might not be too far away from it still.

That said, it's a tough matchup tonight, I'll be happy if they just keep it close.

They are actually favored by 3 or 4. Should be a fun game with a lot of pace.

Said they will keep the red shirt on Epperson, but if they have problems they may have to play him.

First time in school history that the Jays have back-to-back wins over Top 25 teams.
