I do enjoy seeing UNO up there at #10 and Creighton in "others receiving votes". It's early in the season and this can certainly change, but the first few years of the program, CU supporters talked about how playing UNO would hurt their RPI and how they were one of the premier programs in the country and their fans saw no reason to play a 3rd rate program like UNO. I remember talk about how CU soccer exemplified "the beautiful game" at it's highest level while watching UNO was like watching a street mugging.

There is certainly room for two top flight NCAA men's soccer programs in this city and UNO has proven they are positioned to compete with the big boys. They have the facilities and a top coach. Maybe CU will be looking to poach Jason Mims if things keep trending the way they are for UNO.

I will have zero respect for CU if they discontinue this series.

Pretty cool UNO player Elvir Ibisevic got in against the US Men's National Team. With that and having a player drafted in the MLS draft along with the great season making the NCAA tournament this is probably the most successful D1 season outside of hockey for any program.

Disappointing and somewhat unexpected. Honestly, I expected to get another 1-2 years out of Mims. I thought the biggest risk was seeing him go to Creighton as their program has somewhat regressed the last couple of years. I've never been sold on Elmar Bolowich. With the right leadership, CU has the resources to win a College Cup, which is a bit less likely for UNO. With his ties to CU, I figured that might be enticing.

I didn't think he'd leave for too many other college jobs and I hadn't thought of him taking an academy job with the MLS.

It's never a good day when the best coach on campus walks out the door.

Big time hire for Trev. Bob Warming former Creighton and Penn St coach will take over the UNO program. Two time national coach of the year.

Great hire. not unlike bringing in Dean Blais for hockey. This should set UNO up as a contender for a number of years.

Hard not to be excited about UNO Soccer going forward after watching the press conference. Still sad to see Mims go, but it's obvious that the program is in capable hands and there are people at the helm, both the head coach and athletic director, that care about the sport and its viability at the school and in the city of Omaha overall.

Yeah this is as big of a hire as UNO has had since Dean Blais. I never thought they'd be able to bring in a coach for soccer with the pedigree of Warming. If they were going to lose Mims, this is almost a best case scenario. I can see UNO soccer going to the next level. Hopefully they keep increasing attendance.

I'm not a soccer guy myself (did play some growing up and love going to Sporting KC games) but this is very good for UNO overall.
