It calms down really fast.  It has an "overflow" on the ends so any waves go right off the end and don't bounce off the walls and go back in to the pool.

How long is it between heats/finals?
Does this really all happen in the one hour 8pm time frame?
What happens in between? Music? Videos?...
I attended Sat night.  There is usually around 5 min or so in between heats.  During that time they interviewed past olympic swimmers in the crowd.  The trials started around 6:45 and the races were done around 8:10....with the medal ceremony included it was over by 8:30.

Yeah, the longer breaks between the action usually are occupied by medal ceremonies or an announcement of new members to the olympic team. The announcer comes on over the PA to announce they're returning to live NBC coverage and gets the crowd all jacked up before they cut back to Omaha.

I've been doing a ton of traveling the past few weeks & not as much with the CWS but Omaha sure is getting a lot of publicity regarding the trials.

Louisville Reportedly in Running for 2016 Olympic Trials
Swim Swam wrote:Louisville joins Jacksonville, Greensboro, Indianapolis, and Omaha as cities believed to be interested in hosting Trials, with more than 15 having submitted a notion for more information. We will learn more about the process and the finalists this fall, when those cities truly interested respond to a request for proposal, with a decision hoping to be made by May of 2013.
Add a return to Long Beach to the list.

I heard somewhere that the 2016 Olimpics swimming will have teh event in an outdoor pool setup.  There may be an driver to have the trials in an outdoor pool setup.  That would make Omaha a long shot.
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

Even if we are a long shot for swimming in 2016, we should go for gymnastics or some other individual sport.   The USOC has got to be impressed with the new attendance record.   Hopefully, we can get some other event.   Got to say, I was really proud of Omaha this past week.

According to the GI Independent:
http://www.theindependent.com/sports/sw ... f887a.html
It’s possible that more than one suitor will offer to create an open-air facility in 2016, like the swimming venue for those Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. USA Swimming went that route with Long Beach, Calif., for the 2004 Trials when the Summer Games were in Athens.
It's a possibility, but not necessarily going to happen.

Actually, I was thinking TD Ameritrade Park...but the Rio Olympics only start a week later than the London games.  So they'll need to pool installed long before the College World Series...
