My work colleagues son hit a home run for Blair this afternoon, the team going on to beat Urbandale, IA at the regionals of the Little League World Series in Indianapolis. They are 3-0 with just one game to play in round robin (against Kansas)... will likely go into the semi-finals as the #1 seed... winning that game, they would play on national television on ESPN... and should they win the regional championship... they would travel to Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series.
Having beaten Kansas today in the last round robin game, Blair (#1) plays in semi final tomorrow against Missouri (#4)... if they win, they will play on ESPN Saturday.
Shoot for the Moon... if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
Kearney (NE) just beat Grandview (IA) 5-1 to advance to the MW Finals on Saturday.
A Nebraska team has never made it to Williamsport.
They will face the winner of tonight's Missouri vs South Dakota.

To be fair Nebraska has never really been a "Little League" state. I know a lot of the Omaha select teams play in other organizations with better rules than Little League. In fact little league is almost like softball. These kids are 12 and they cannot lead off or advance on a dropped 3rd strike.
