That program has "been on the rise" since I graduated high school, the win against OkSt was thrilling but finishing the season third to last in the Big 12 is not something I'd hang my hat on.

The Iowa St people I hang around prefer to look at it as 7th in the Big 12.  Sounds better!

I would say Iowa State earned the title best team in Iowa this year.  They beat Iowa.  Rhodes has now defeated Texas, Okie State, Nebraska and Iowa.  I think they are on the rise.

I was putting Northern Iowa ahead of both of them.  ;)

Bo Pelini a contender for Arkansas job?

http://www.omaha.com/article/20120411/B ... kansas-job
In the wake of the firing of Arkansas head football coach, speculation on a possible successor includes names familiar to Nebraskans and Iowans - Bo Pelini and Paul Rhoads.

The University of Arkansas fired coach Bobby Petrino Tuesday night, citing Petrino's “pattern of misleading and manipulative behavior” following a motorcycle accident last week.

Petrino, a married father of four, initially claimed that he was riding alone on his motorcycle at the time of the accident. But just before the police report became public, Petrino admitted that he had a passenger. It turned out to be Jessica Dorrell, a 25-year-old woman who is a former Arkansas volleyball player and with whom Petrino admitted having an inappropriate relationship.

The New York Times reported that it is unlikely a permanent coach will come from within the Razorbacks' program, although athletic director Jeff Long said he would consider that option.

The new coach will most likely come from the outside. Nebraska's Pelini, Iowa State's Rhoads, Baylor's Art Briles and Texas Christian's Gary Patterson would be among the school's top targets, according to The New York Times. Candidates with in-state ties include former Arkansas assistants Garrick McGee and Gus Malzahn.

I think he retired some seasons ago. Now he needs to just get off the air.

That video is hilarious. I have thought about Lou for years, he makes absolutely no sense. I love how the guy to the right just looks like he is in disbelief. I also think that Chris Berman and Dick Vitale are just about as worthless.

They really should run subtitles for him since he seems to be speaking a foreign language.
