Yeah, once they read the actual quote it didn't sound as promising.

I thought it was pretty significant.  Last year at this time he was stating there was no way A&M was going to break away from U of Texas.

Which was stupid to begin with seeing as how the relationship isn't really mutually beneficial in any way.

I think he was talking out of his |expletive| both times.  The thing he said last year was stupid because everyone in the Big 12 was talking about moving somewhere and this latest comment sounds like he saw what I saw on twitter and assumed it was true.  "I read about it the same time as y'all did."

The latest rumor is that the A&M deal is all but done and that Florida St. is being talked to as a 14th member.

Regents meeting moved up to next week.  The schedule of the new meeting time is on the regents web site per 1620  SEC meeting scheduled too.  Could all be done early next week.

Beebe is such an outstanding commissioner.  Can't wait to see how he spins this once it all goes down.

Haha, he wont have a conference to spin anything for soon enough.  It is really easy to see how poorly he runs the Big 12.  The latest on him is that he went to A&M officials and told them the conference doesn't even need them.  He said that Texas is the only key institution for the conference and that he can easily replace A&M with Houston.

I can't express how happy I am that Nebraska is in the B1G Ten.

As I stated on a Husker Board.... Will Beebe and Co still call the "Conf" the Big 12 when it is Just Texas?

You can now add transfer to Wyoming.  Lets see if this one sticks.

It doesn't look good for Miami.
And the NCAA hasn't even begun to look into the program.
I wonder how much more will be dug up and if they play ineligible players.

Everyone in Omaha knows, the NCAA likes their money and Miami brings in a lot of it.  I can't imagine this day and and age of big dollar sports any school getting their program dropped.

New Cy-Hawk Trophy Unveiled at Iowa State Fair
KCRG wrote:The winner of the Iowa/Iowa State game will take home a trophy with a much different look this year. Today at the Iowa State Fair the Iowa Corn Growers Association unveiled the new Cy-Hawk football trophy. The trophy shows an Iowa family together after a day on the farm.

No |expletive|.  Football is the last gladiator sport left and needs to be treated as one.  There is nothing worse than these politically correct trophies and policies.

Cy-Hawk Trophy to be Redesigned
KCRG wrote:Iowa Corn representatives, along with University of Iowa and Iowa State University officials, announced at a news conference today that the trophy, unveiled last Friday at the Iowa State Fair, will be replaced after “overwhelming” response from the public. Iowa and Iowa State fans will have the opportunity to vote on a series of proposed designs for the new trophy.

Reviled Cy-Hawk Trophy to get do-over

ESPN wrote:The Iowa Corn Growers Association -- which was largely responsible for producing the Precious Moments figurine ... er, new Iowa-Iowa State football trophy -- announced on Tuesday that it would scrap the much-hated design that featured a kneeling farmer, his family and a basket of corn.

The association, along with leaders of both schools, showed an amazing amount of tone-deafness in approving the new trophy. But give them credit for listening to the fan uproar and correcting the mistake. That doesn't always happen (cough, Legends and Leaders, cough).

Here's a hint: either involve the game of football in the trophy, or make it something cool and iconic like Paul Bunyon's Axe or Floyd of Rosedale. Sentimental images do not belong on football trophies.

So they get yet another chance at submitting another dumb |expletive| trophy design.

Keep it simple, and stop trying to cater toward a crowd who really doesn't give a |expletive| about football, anyway!

A&M officially announces they are leaving the B12 in July 2012.

Looks like there will be another round of realignment next year.  Way too many scenarios to even begin to predict at this point.

I hope nothing but bad things for the rest of the B12 members that kept saying we "took our ball and went home" last year.

Btw, loved the Texas=Frankenstein analogy from NewsOK.com

Berry Tramel NewsOK.com wrote: The Longhorn Network, as an idea, was created to save the Big 12 Conference. Instead, looks like BevoTV will destroy the Big 12 Conference.  But the plot gets richer. A dissolved Big 12 could mean the end of the Longhorn Network.  We've seen this story before. Frankenstein. The tortured scientist who created a monster that eventually destroyed its maker. Then the monster killed itself because of its crimes.

Remember to run anything Brad types though the Brad to English translator.  I hear Rosetta Stone is releasing a version soon, too.
