possible new development in old market

Post by Bomaha »

A friend clued me on a possible brand new building in the old market on one of the parking lots. It's supposed to be big. Vague, I know.

Disclaimer: My friend is kind of a a$$, so he could be feeding me |expletive|. :)

If it is big I would think it would be the lot on Harney and 10th. Hope somethings pans out of this.

DOGIS and the assessors website list the owner as John Q Hammonds Hotels Two, and a John Q Hammons owns the 3 Embassy Suites in Nebraska. What the "Two" means, I don't know.

They've owned that for years. We have a thread on that lot that goes way back... Unless there is anything new this is not a go.

I just ment that lot as in if there is anything "big" in the works that is probably the only lot in the Old Market t could happen on.

Plus it is possible to hav a projec in the works without owning the land. I'm not even sure Lanoha owns the WST lot yet.

Who owns the lot the Farmers Market is held in?

Also the entire 1 square block low rise parking structure at 10th and Jackson is owned by the City and would probably be given over for free for a major project. The entire square block at 13th and Howard that has the chamber of commerce and the parking garage for the state office building is owned by the City or State and would be cleared in a heartbeat for a major project.

The lot with the farmers market would mostl likely see something like 12th and Howard than a major project. As for the other city owned lots I am not so positive they are that open. The city spent a lot to build those parking garages and it would be a huge obstacle for a developer to incur the costs of demolishing them if they wanted to build. A heck of a lot more expensive than breaking up some pavement.

Any excuse to get rid of that creeper robot thing would do.
