Waterpark?
My wife and I were visiting with friends last night and they mentioned that rumors are flying around the neighborhood (near 36th and Harrison) that someone is looking at building a waterpark somewhere just to the east of their neighbhorhood. From what they heard, it's not supposed to have a bunch of waterslides. A neighbor of theirs said it's supposed to be geared towards adults with a couple large pools with swim up bars, a lazy river, sand volleyball courts, multiple sunbathing decks, a restaurant/bar, and an outdoor dance area. I don't know that area real well but wouldn't think there would be any land out there for waterpark but it sounds cool, especially for those who hate to go to public pools and other waterparks where you have to hear all those kids screaming.

A European village theme for something like this would be cool.

Re: Waterpark?
It was just a rumor I heard from my friends. I didn't say it was realistic. I was only stating what I heard from them. It would be pretty cool if it was true though. I was thinking last night, there is a decent sized, undeveloped area somewhere close to 60th and Harrison. All I know, if it is true, I hope they don't call it Waterpark Village or Waterpark Pointe. Hopefully they will have all underground parking and a monorail station linking it to downtown.

Re: Waterpark?
It would really be cool if we could get a water polo stadium there.
Re: Waterpark?
Water Polo stadium? Water polo is played in a standard 25m or 25y pool with goals set up.Coyote wrote:It would really be cool if we could get a water polo stadium there.

Yes, usually indoors, set up bleachers on either side, a nice replay scoreboard overhead, add some cheerleaders, and we can join the Central Division of the National Water Polo a League.Linkin5 wrote:Water Polo stadium? They don't make life vests for horses like they used to.
Re: Waterpark?
You guys are so funny. NOT! I do like the idea of having a petting area at an adult waterpark though. I want to pet the kitties.

I was doubtful at first but the tide might be turning on this. Doing some searching on the net this AM I stumbled upon a copy of the super secrete RFP that is out to have this new Omaha Water park built. Here are some of the design details that I was able to grab before the document self destructed
