New Rumor

Post by Finn »

I have heard that there are negotiations for a grocer in downtown. This is very preliminary! It is part of a project that is still probably about six months away (I know that is a long time).

What was the rumor that came true?

I heard from someone who works downtown that Wholner's, the neighborhood grocer on 50th and Leavenworth, is going to open a downtown location. I think that would be great. I don't really want to see a Hy-Vee or Bakers downtown. Gross.

Now that would be great - a Wohlners market place - a grocery with a little style.

Though I'd prefer a Wohlner's, I think Fareway would be a decent choice, too. Please no Baker's (most likely anyways), No Frills, or HyVee.

I do believe negotiations are in progress

I have heard the following rumor regarding Wohlners, they are planning on located in the lower level of the "Lerner Building". This is not a huge space but it may include the lower 2 floors. This would all but wipe-out the downtown food mart. Located across the street

The Lerner Building is correct and the grocery space will include the first two floors.
