Bluestone Development Looking for another project?

Post by Guest »

Bluestone development is looking to create row housing comparable or better then SoMa. The area they are currently includes developing the recently closed Cangelia's. Unfortunately don't have a timeline on any announcements.[/img]

Sounds good. Caniglia's has a lot of parking lot there. It might make a nice parcel for some townhomes. Hopefully Bluestone will also keep a focus on their already announced project for a condo building in North Downtown as part of the Saddle Creek project. That portion has already gone through the planning board process, but the Bluestone portion was withdrawn in July and hasn't been seen since. I hope they aren't planning to blow it off and move on to another project.

Well, if they're already thinking about another rowhouse project, they better make an announcement about the Butternut Building pretty darn quick.

P.S. Jeff, did you turn the "censoring" feature off on the forum. Because I just said the "F word" in that last sentence fully expecting the "explitive" thing to appear, but it didn't. Just thought that if it was a mistake, you'd like to know :) .

It's my understanding there won't be any kind of announcement on the Butternut site until the insurance claims are settled.

It would be nice if Bluestone adopted another area of North Downtown to develop rowhomes. Let's get the excitement going down there. I seem to remember that there was some dense housing along 17th south of Cuming proposed in the North Downtown plan. It may have been shown as townhomes or rowhomes, not sure I remember correctly, but it would be a good place for Bluestone to get another project going. This would be an extra bonus for Bluestone, because it would add more of a focus and publicity on the development next to SlowDown.

It would also be nice if they developed a site that is currently a weed infested, pot hole ridden, trash laden parking lot or vacant lot in the downtown core. Lets leave our high rises that attract lots of activity and people alone.

Where are the trashy parking lots? Along Harney Street and 15th. All along Leavenworth. Areas around the Federal Reserve building and the old Continental Hotel. 24th Street. Capitol Avenue east of 12th street. Areas around the 480 overpass. There are more.

I don't get the "leave our highrises alone" comment.
