New Bass Pro Interchange.
I have heard from a few people in CB that they are going to build a new interchange for Bass Pro. Apparently they have a lot of work already going on from the South Omaha bridge all the way up towards Bass Pro. Is this Correct, or does anyone know anything?

New interchange, maybe. The IDOT has two concepts for their proposed interstate reconstruct - one of which would provide a straight shot onto 23rd Ave off of I-29, which is the street on the north side of Bass Pro, the MAC and the Horseshoe.
There has been a widening project on-going for some time between I-80 and South Omaha Bridge Road on S. 24th Street, but that was in the works before anybody was even sniffing at Bass Pro's door.

But will the two connect?

S. 24th Street already has its own interchange and connects to 23rd Ave. to the north of that. There's talk that the City will be doing something with 29th Ave (which parallels I-80/29 to the south of the casino and Bass Pro) and how it connects at S. 24th Street to further improve access to the Bass Pro and MAC areas from that interchange.
Personally, just for simplicity sake, I hope they rename S. 24th Street to avoid the St. vs. Ave. confusion, since the street numbers in that area are about the same, whether you're talking St. or Ave.

In other actions at Monday night's meeting, the council also gave its approval to renaming a portion of South 33rd Street and 29th Avenue between 23rd Avenue and South 24th Street to Mid-America Drive, and a portion of South 32nd Street and 27th Avenue between 23rd Avenue and M.A.C. Boulevard to Bass Pro Drive.icejammer wrote:

Yes, that was already discussed here http://www.eomaha.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... sc&start=0, but I'm just talking about S. 24th Street. A new name would be way more exciting than just a number (and avoid the confusion).Anonymous wrote:In other actions at Monday night's meeting, the council also gave its approval to renaming a portion of South 33rd Street and 29th Avenue between 23rd Avenue and South 24th Street to Mid-America Drive, and a portion of South 32nd Street and 27th Avenue between 23rd Avenue and M.A.C.
