Pacific Life will be moving to Omaha in a new building DT. It hasn't been made public info yet, but a friend of mine has seen the renderings and they've already moved a good number of people here with plans to move the rest of the company by 2010.

Another local company is planning on building a new tower for 1,500 employees with extra space for lease.

A new (airport) terminal is also going to be built in the next 2 years.

If the "guest" is correct 1500 people is a decent amount, then when you add rental space.

Also with the Airport, people act like its a Big Secret, Jeff has had it on this site for a year and a half now.

Those are juicy employment/skyscraper rumors. Hopefully they will come true. They do jive with the America First proposal - perhaps it will still be built but at a different site.

So..it comes off as ignorant when it has to be intertwined with any city discussion (especially when it is not the topic of discussion) and perpetuates rumors and negative attitudes. Like Jon often says, this site is to inform people of the greatness that Omaha has to offer. We are not trying to start pissing matches with KC, DM et al forumers!

Something can be learned here.

Omaha doesn't need any unsubstantiated hype to impress others on forums like skyscrapercity.com. Well informed outsiders on these forums already cite Omaha as one of the nations most up and coming cities.

Oh, and all talking negatively about other cities accomplishes... is establishing that you have an attitude (and in some cases... such as that of the KC forum... people are left thinking everyone from that city has some kind of inferiority complex).
