The Scott brothers want to tear down the single-story vacant building and put up a modern four-story retail and office building that would feature an architectural element with which city officials charged with overseeing the Haymarket’s historic character were not pleased.
WRK, the Scotts' company, is planning a brick and metal paneled building on the site that would house retail and possibly office space on the first floor, office space on the second and third floors, and two conference rooms on the fourth. The company plans to incorporate the existing building's east brick façade into the east side of the new building.
