That is an interesting perspective Edsas. I've never looked at it from that angle.
I've only focused on the ultra conservative right wing Republican image that hasn't carried a Democrat since Johnson or Kennedy. The state is so Republican that even the Republicans won't campaign here. And then the World Herald, a bi-partisan paper(whatever) has not endorsed a Democrat since Kennedy.
