Harris Overpass

Post by The Impaler »

Anyone have a link to the final renderings of the bridge design?  I check the website routinely and it has indicated the displays are coming soon, but that as been there since November.

It's going to look a lot like the old one.  Still two lanes.  The spacing between the bridge supports will differ because of new construction technologies between the 1960s and today, but not much else.

For the past week, I checked the Lincoln section of eOmahaforums.com several times for the latest news on the proposed downtown/Haymarket West Downtown arena.  This thread catches my attention.   Thursday night I did an Internet search and found a website for the Harris Overpass

http://www.harrisoverpass.com

It even has two PDF documents on Historical Impacts for and the design of the new bridge:

For those who do not know were the Harris Overpass is, It is the long "O" Street bridge over the BNSF mainline tracks west of the Lincoln Railroad Station and south of the Haymarket area.  Interesting, the bridge could be between two parking garages for the new proposed downtown/Haymarket West Downtown arena & Convention Center.
