The Texas-based information technology company announced Tuesday that it plans to build a 150,000-square-foot building on about 21 acres at the Technology Park to house 750 of its Lincoln employees who are now spread out at seven sites across the city. About 250 employees will remain at a site near 16th and Old Cheney Road
The Technology Park site also will house 150 additional employees to be hired in Lincoln and leave room for another 200 jobs to be created in the future, said Mike Kerrey, executive vice president of insurance and business process solutions at Perot Systems.
“These are jobs that will have a dramatic impact on 150 families in Lincoln and a dramatic effect on the Lincoln economy in general,” said Mayor Chris Beutler.
Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman called Perot’s announcement an example of the state’s growing “competitiveness in ‘new economy’ jobs.”
