The old one couldn't have been over 150' feet.

According to visitomaha.com, which has had this description of the park for a few years.
Catch the spectacular Heartland of America Fountain with its 300-ft water jet and light show.
http://www.visitomaha.com/listings/Hear ... n/56947/0/
But I agree, I don't think the old fountain was really shooting water 300 ft into the air.

It appears they were testing the fountain today...my guess is they hope to have it up and running for the Taste of Omaha.

This is so nice and so sorely missed! Looks good... do I remember reading something about it shooting the water even higher now?

One 400-horsepower pump will power the center spout to shoot water more than 300 feet high.

"We've done a little research ourselves. It will be one of the tallest in the world," Bench said.

Is it no longer lit up? We were at taste of O and it was never lit up :(  also how often does it go over 300 feet? We watched the band play for 2 hours and it never went high...

Im not sure if it coincedence or by design, but the only times i remember seeing it shoot high were nights that it wasnt expected to be real windy.

Very nice, thanks for the pictures.  I hope that the restored fountain is lit up.  I also noticed they restored the old smaller fountain as well and it is now working.  Great to see.

It looks like the fountain only worked on Friday? We we'd there both Saturday and Sunday and it was not on at all

The fountain was on and looking good last night! Never shot very high though. Could that be because of the wind?

SO that begs the question: Are they totally fixed and that is as high as they will get; Are they totally fixed, but not shooting for its height yet; Are they not yet totally fixed?

I haven't seen it nearly as high as it use to be.  All the construction equipment is still down there.

If the equipment is still there, does it look like they are still testing the fountain?

Is the fountain on some type of schedule or something... I have gone down there two different times and its been off, however other days I am in the old market and you can see it going strong...  Last night it was off.

Are we to assume that the disappointing operation from before was not the full capabilities they had been talking about with 250' high water streams?

What's with the fountain, to me, it seems to be on a completely RANDOM schedule of when its on and when its not on.  Any ideas?

Speaking of the park... I've noticed that the parking lot here is almost always full during the day. Who is using this lot?
