Locally owned Scooter's to open new location soon

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=46&u_sid=2275595" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Scooter's Coffeehouse, which began in 1998 as a single drive-through location in Bellevue, will open its 50th store this month.

The locally owned chain expects to open stores at 78th and Dodge Streets, 108th and M Streets, on Capehart Road near 25th Street in Bellevue, and at a strip mall in Austin, Texas.

The exact opening date or location of the 50th store depends on when each coffeehouse is completed, said Don Eckles, founder of Scooter's Coffeehouse and senior vice president of SJE Holdings Inc., the company that develops regional franchises for the specialty coffee retailer.

"We are going to pass 50 within a few months and in the next couple years pass 100," Eckles said. "We might even do it before that. We are growing quickly."

I found that if I need a coffee shop that is easy to find and has wifi more the convenient one I prefer Scoters. IMO they have great coffee and have free wifi gotta love that.

Scooter’s Coffeehouse plans Kansas City-area stores with Cherry on Top frozen yogurt
Biz Journals wrote:Scooter’s Coffeehouse and Cherry on Top frozen yogurt are planning to open two joint-concept stores. The stores will feature both treats: half of the store will be a coffee house and half a self-serve yogurt bar. They plan to open the first joint-concept store in July in Lincoln, Neb.

Well, someone has finally picked up the corner plot of land at 84th & F and work has started to put in a Scooters there. They were getting to erect the sign today so i couldn't tell (as it was laying on its side) if it was to be integrated with another business like a FNB bank or U-Save Pharmacy or just a regular drive-through.  But, the short of it is there will be a Scooters in some form at 84th & F.

What used to be there? Is there a reason they tore down what looks to be two or three different buildings on Google Maps for a Jiffy Lube and a vacant lot to sell?

Back in the day it was a Sinclair gas station.  Probably looks like three buildings on Google Maps.  Car Wash, Building and Canopy.  Bing.com has much better maps and the birds eye view.

That one will be a standard Scooters Kiosk with a drive through, not the new Yogurt co-brand.

Looks like they are doing a bit of rebranding.  72nd and Dodge and Aksarben Place both have red signage and say Coffee & Yogurt.

Omaha-based Scooter's Coffee plans 40 more stores in Dallas over next several years
Scooter's has 111 stores now open in seven states, with at least 60 on the way over the next several years, including a 20-store franchise agreement in Iowa announced in January. Scooter's projects at least 15 new-store openings by the end of 2014.

Adding 60 to 111 is a really big expansion. Considering they skipped OK to get to Dallas one would wonder if Tulsa or OKC could get some stores soon too. Could make a claim the plains.

I doubt Starbucks is terribly worried about Scooters, but it is nice to see a local company grab a hold in the region. Especially in the coffee market where there are a ton of different options.

They did not skip Oklahoma, they are opening there this year:
