I have an aunt and my close cousins live there. It seems like this has happened near there before.

Town chuckles over quake

http://www.omaha.com/article/20091217/NEWS01/712179819
Kevin Cole WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:By Thursday morning Philly Grill owners Rich and Debbie Cox were already advertising an "earthquake burger special" — a regular hamburger with hashbrowns and salad for $6.99.

Regulars at the grill described the earthquake as not much more than a minor scare.

Tom Smiley, an American Family Insurance agent, said he had been getting e-mails and calls from co-workers in Omaha asking if he was selling earthquake insurance.
Kevin Cole WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:Smiley said that, at first, he thought the City of Auburn might be dumping large amounts of snow outside his house, and the tractor's bucket fell to the ground too quickly.

At the Cox home, Debbie said that she heard what sounded like a large explosion, but there wasn't enough trembling to shake the snow off the roof. "My daughter came flying out of her bedroom and said, "Mom, what was that?"

Her daughter's boyfriend, who lives in Tecumseh, knew immediately what it was. "He said, 'It's probably just an earthquake. We live on the Humboldt fault line.'"

Incredibly, some people are reporting the quake motion more than 100 miles away was as strong as those near the epicenter (further proof that some people need to quit smoking crack)

I didn't feel anything around here but on the NBC news tonight, I think they said there have been several quakes in that Kansas/OK area in just the last two weeks. They had like 90 that registered at 2.0 this year alone.

Right on schedule for our annual earthquake. It was felt in Lawrence, KS today. Nothing big but people felt it and reported dish rattling.

Looks like it was a 4.7 epicenter in Northern Oklahoma.

Five earthquakes in the past week or so near Arnold, Nebraska.

Attached is a map showing the locations and I added the size next to them. (white circles are the 3 from last week, colors are this week)

Interesting side note, Red arrow is where I started and ended my eclipse photo sequence during the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse. The Green arrow is where I watch totality of the eclipse.

Yeah, I'm not sure where I got 5 since there are clearly 6 dots on my map, and I typed them magnitude next to each one... LOL

What is even sadder is that I didn't even notice that fact. You mentioned five and I had heard there was another so I assumed that this was put together between #5 and #6 without seeng that there were 6 on the chart

Everything that the USGS is saying is that its totally normal. Crazy that we haven't seen a run like this recently then.
