HDR 84th Street Property?

Post by Brad »

So what's next for the 84th St. property? More room for Methodist hospital? More room for Children's Hospital? Something different?

Wouldn't surprise me if Children's swooped in.

Children's is already planning an expansion for that little bit of green space left near Dodge Street.

I would be shocked if Children's hospital didn't snatch it up.

That will be an expansion of their PICU, and a new NICU. They will be vacating our 4th and 5th floors of the North Tower hopefully in the next five years. Lord knows we need the bed space.

I'm curious as to who will get the space. Methodist and Children's obviously, but I really hope Methodist does. That way, they can maybe do away with their older administration and medical office buildings and put something more attractive there.

99% chance that Children's and Methodist take some if not all of the space.

HDR's move to downtown Omaha leaves impressive campus many believe will be snapped up
Cindy Gonzalez: World-Herald writer wrote:Children’s Hospital & Medical Center’s Scott Kaminski said the HDR buildings were too big and didn’t fit Children’s needs. The hospital, he said, was not pursuing the campus “at this time.”

Kaminski, vice president of support services, said Children’s about a year ago bought 8552 Cass St. and renovated it for administration functions.

A spokeswoman said Methodist Health System officials were unavailable for comment.

A condo conversion would be interesting.

Interesting map. Businesses sure do want to be located on that West Dodge corridor.

That map is interesting. I wonder why Downtown stretches all of the way to I-80 and what it would look like if it was actually just Downtown.

I would have to imagine it would be higher if just downtown.

No doubt that this will find a tenant. Awesome location that is still Class A office space. What will be interesting is if the owners will seek out a single user or if they will be willing to split the space up.
