I miss Mort. I wish I could have been around for Streets' stuff too.

I don't know about that... Maybe less fighting, but there used to be a lot more humor (my opinion, of course)Brad wrote:I would say it has more humor now than ever...

Whenever Streets was referenced, I just wanted to be in on what everyone meant. Oh well. At least I got to see the hamster and wheel that drives Mort's mind.

I think streets always meant well, but he had the communication skills of a |expletive| potato.
He was always insisting he had a way of life better than the rest, as if he were some kind of enlightened spirit of future civilizations. I would rather buy a condom from a drug dealer with a pocket full of dirty needles, than buy his BS.

Streets had the education of an Urban Planner with the pretentiousness of a Harvard Law student. Every post was about how American cities are doomed or the worst thing to ever happen, and about how he and his wife were going to basically flee to Europe.RNcyanide wrote:Whenever Streets was referenced, I just wanted to be in on what everyone meant. Streets is now married (or still has his live-in girlfriend) and lives in Santa Fe, working with city planning...MTO wrote:Wife?

Idk if anyone else has seen what the Pope has to say about sprawl and urban communities, but maybe Streets was onto something.
Re: Highline 2.0
I always got a kick out of his posts. He did have some good ideas, but like S33 said, went about it the wrong way.

well there was a lot of cursing, telling me to try and live without a car (lolz), and ended with the following sentence which made me laugh for about an hour straight:Garrett wrote:You can't throw that out without sharing....Linkin5 wrote:You would have loved his insane PMs he would send.HR Paperstacks wrote:I always got a kick out of his posts. Thanks for tryin ;) but in all honesty, thats a pretty sweet view. Thats a much better perspective than i would have imagined. It just always seemed further away than that, ya know?iamjacobm wrote:Shot from The Highline FB a few days ago.

He sent me a couple PM's, however, they were much more subdued than that.
I really need to make that last line my signature.

No shamrocks attached to this project!
Re: Highline 2.0
Yeah they are not messing around, I can't believe how quick it is going up from the time of announcement.nativeomahan wrote:No shamrocks attached to this project!
Re: Highline 2.0
The building looked symmetrical from schematic and renders but it looks like they changed that. Never thought there'd be a swimming pool just feet from Douglas.

Exciting to see NuStyle get into the new construction development game. Who knows what else they have up their sleeves.Linkin5 wrote:Yeah they are not messing around, I can't believe how quick it is going up from the time of announcement.nativeomahan wrote:No shamrocks attached to this project!
Re: Highline 2.0
And here is one from the ground. Really gives you some perspective having these up as to how the building will look in the area. Really great infill here. Was this development supposed to have any commercial space in it, or just apartments?

Framing going up. This one will be quick.
Re: Highline 2.0
Here is one from my building a few nights ago. Since this, they have continued to add walls. Hopefully should be moving up to the second floor soon.

Re: Highline 2.0
I drove past this project yesterday and even though I knew it was going here, it was not until I actually saw it that I could say Whoa!
Re: Highline 2.0
I'm really excited to drive down Douglas street when this is finished.
Re: Highline 2.0
It is cool how one fairly modest project can really change the feel of a block. This stretch of Douglas will go from rundown to up and coming pretty quickly.Coyote wrote:I drove past this project yesterday and even though I knew it was going here, it was not until I actually saw it that I could say Whoa!

Very exciting to see the most bleak part of downtown developed.iamjacobm wrote:It is cool how one fairly modest project can really change the feel of a block.
