I think the Madonna is right along dodge.  When I was out there the other day, it looked like grading for the hotel was going on.
We have a heck of a lot of hotel construction right now.

I'm thinking we may be getting oversaturated with them.

Maybe not as much as you might think due to more than a few events every year that pack out nearly hotel in the city. CWS week has both CWS and a massive Little League tournament that sells out nearly every hotel in the city for a couple weeks. Not to mention the new big events Omaha has been hosting recently... These companies have to do market research before deciding to build a large new hotel.

It looks like it's a Home 2 Suites by Hilton.... off 178th & Dodge (actually 178th & Chicago west of the other hotel/Village Pointe)  being built.   I hope I'm not too late posting this (did someone else already?) but I just started digging on the permits site.

This will work nicely here.

This thing looks more urban than both of the hotels in NDTO.

Holy nuts, you're right!! You know you screwed up badly when suburban West Omaha out-urbanizes urban East Omaha...

Rumor has it Athleta is coming to VP.
Athleta Is "the premier fitness fashion brand for women who see being healthy and fit as vital to life.
Power to the She."
It looks like a Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic store...

Was at VP on Friday. Looks like they are redoing access road on north side by Dodge, and adding adjacent parking. Does not surprise me, that place always seems to have a good crowd.

They added a bunch of parking as some Saturdays, some people were parking their pickups up on the grass. We are wondering if they will require store employees to park out there.

Pancheros has closed down. Likely due to the continual health violations. Any word on what's replacing it?

I liked the Queso too and that really leaves a food gap at VP.

Apple is rolling out an updated look for their stores they are dropping the metallic facade for a classier light stone with an updated interior. Not sure how fast this will happen ergo when our store will get this treatment.

I'm suspicious of the word "classier" ...reminds me of an owner describing their Caddilac Fleetwood with the gold package and landau roof. ...but I'm sure it will look more innovative and fresh than that. :D
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings"
...and then they were gone.

I was out at VP tonight and there is a large fenced -in construction area just northwest of Scheels north entrance. Not sure what is being built.

I've seen it too. Are they doing any actual construction there or is it just a safe place to leave the equipment while they are working inside the vacant shop bays?

No just time for us to update. We have been wanting to for the last few years but decided to focus on building two new stores last year instead.

Still not the level of the remodel of the Lincoln store though!

Did the Lincoln store remodel or remodel and expand too? And how many locations does Lincoln have?

Lincoln has one Scheels location. IT is at Southpoint. They announced in December that the existing store will be replaced with one 3X it's size. It will take a couple years but the exiting store will be torn down The exiting store was new in 2000.

I believe there is more info on this int he Lincoln area of the Forum
