I would agree.. But if he decides to bolt for the NBA, you have that definite uneasy feeling for next year..
Should JP return for one more college basketball season? Of course. He'd benefit greatly from it.. physically his body is still growing and filling out. Will he return? I'd say it's probably 50-50 at this point..
The fork is sharpening and ready to penetrate the Bluejays this season, unfortunately.. Who would have thought that about 6 or so weeks ago ...
Ciao..LiO...Peace
I'm confident he will return, but I haven't been right much on this weird season.
What a night to get screwed in CBB. Dookies blow it, Creighton blows it, Oregon comes back from down 14 6min left and wins with a buzzer beater 3
A real bad rumor going around about Mo Watson. I should have known immediately, given that I haven't noticed him with the team or on the bench recently and Creighton put out a VERY vague and generic press statement.
Creighton has a PR nightmare on their hands now with this making it 3 major incidences this month.
What a terrible last 3 min of the game last night. Up 66-62, we didn't score again and could never get any offensive flow. I don't understand why Zierden is playing the point. He is not good at it at all. He should be a guy coming off the bench for 10-15 min a game to get a few good shots. I have said this before, but when he doesn't score, he doesn't bring much else. Mintz is by far more athletic and should be the answer for the rest of the season. Sure, he makes mistakes, but he is a freshman.
Just terrible that we get a fall away 3 as our shot on that possession. JP should have taken it to the hoop without holding the ball for 10 seconds for Foster.

That stat is worse than just being inconsistent. It signals a pattern woven into the mental culture of these Jays teams the past few years. I understand they're playing much stiffer competition in the Big East.. But this lack of mental toughness is very disturbing...

It's IMMENSELY disturbing. It signals a systemic issue with McDermott..... add that into free throw shooting as well.

I like coach Mac, but I have to agree. These issues need to be "righted" pronto...
Rebounding ang FTs are correctable issues... Yet they still persist. I like Coach Mad, but...
Meanwhile, look at what Altman is doing...

Altman was burned out here, his last seasons he basically phoned it in (after the "woo pig souie" event). He's a good coach and all, I will never deny that nor should anyone but his time with Creighton was done. He also has some pretty good re$ource$ at Oregon to play with.

Kick him in the knee?
We'll see how this plays out though.
He is going to come back from Philly with a lawyer in tow and bond out. Will a behind the scenes negotiation then pay the girl 50,000 to recant and go away? Maybe. Will he end up spending a couple of years in prison? Maybe.

I wonder though, had Altman not got the itch to leave CU and stuck it out here, if he'd feel burned out now coaching the Jays in The Big East.. hmmm .. Anywho..
Maybe admist all the turmoil surrounding Watson, the team ON the court and on the CU campus in general.. The Bluejays can play free enough to give Villanova a game on the road. It's nice to dream big at least ...

Lot of " what if's" that will never have an answer but I think that if Altman had stayed there is a pretty good chance that CU would not be in the Big East. With Coach Mac here and more important Doug here and what he was doing on the level that was gaining national exposure and success I think that had a LOT to do with opening the Big East door.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!
Mo Watsons warrant went out Thursday and he still has not showed up by Saturday Morning. This guy thinks he O.J. 2 cops flew out to Philly a week ago and he refused to interview with them and now he is dragging his feet coming in for a warrant. This story is heating up to become national news real fast. It is safe to say we now know why this guy was run out of Kansas.

Really?
Was that insensitive? Yes, but he's also innocent until proven guilty. And realistically, that is a very plausible question to ask.
The other day I read an article about how a girl claimed two football players raped her to pretty much get attention. The two guys got suspended and lost their scholarships, and she ended up recanting the story saying that it was made up. Thankfully, she could face jail time now.
It sounds like things got pretty tense Sunday when Mo had not turned himself in yet. It was only shortly after the police made a public statement about their concern that he finally turned himself in about an hour later. The bail today was set at 750,000 so he needs 75,000 to get out. I think he better clean up his act fast or they are going to hang him and jacking the cops around is not a good start. I bet the cops had him under their eye about 5 seconds after he got back in town Saturday and they were ready to drag him in Sunday if he didnt turn himself real soon. It does not sound like its a given he will come up with the 75,000 bail yet. This might be the biggest case to hit Omaha courts since the ex Creighton intern Garcia's murder trial.
What a game by Khyri. 14 pts, 12 rebs and 7 assts. Kinda like a stat line that Tra-Deon Hollins for UNO has almost every night, but against much stronger competition.
Another frustrating loss for the Jays. The bright spot was making a run at the end of the game and Khyri scoring a career-high 23 pts to go along with 7 rebs and 5 assts. Krampelj also with his second consecutive 8 pt 5 reb game. We are going to need Foster to score more than 10 on 17 shots if this team is going to win a game in the Big East or NCAA tournaments.
First BE tournament game is vs Providence @ 8:30 on Thursday night.
Bad news, good news. With Seton Hall beating Butler, CU goes from the 4/5 game to the 6/3 game. Avoiding having to play G'town again and if winning playing Nova. The 6 seed may fit CU better... Playing Providence then Butler...
I think we got the best draw we could ask for at least. Providence is hot and will obviously be tough, but if Butler had beat SH Creighton would of been playing Marquette again and that matchup just seems awful for the Jays. And if we did happen to get by Marquette they would have ran into Nova.
This way we get a Providence team that is certainly;y beatable for the Jays and then Butler, who seems to be a great matchup for this Creighton team.
With two wins over tourney teams maybe they can claw their way off the 7,8,9,10 seed line.
