A planned 153-unit apartment complex at 225 N. Cotner Blvd. fits perfectly into the city's Comprehensive Plan for land use, according to members of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission.
The commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to advance the $17.5 million project, which will involve a four-story, U-shaped apartment building on a nearly two-acre site that used to be home to Home Real Estate's corporate headquarters. The building also would have two levels of underground parking. The apartments would be what are called market rate, meaning they are not subsidized.

Sounds like a good plan.
That's an odd goal to have. I wonder why Gateway in particular. He said the development also is appropriate in the context of the city's land-use plan, which calls for an additional 500 to 1,000 residential units in the area around Gateway Mall by 2040.
