That business park keeps on growing bigger and bigger. I like it, in a way.

Amazing it's taken as long as it has for more of that part of Dodge to get built up.

When they decide to leave town and take their jobs with them I'll call them that... for now I'll call them Bank of the West.

I banked with them for a while after the merger as a former COM FED customer. I will call them that now.

At least an Omaha bank who likes to build high rises seems to be cashing in on this merger. Hopefully, their increase in profits will lead to more skyscrapers...

Sorry to make things difficult for you there Brad.
50,000 square feet was the threshhold I generally used in justifying a dedicated thread for commercial structures.
Thanks for the updates!

Thats cool, at least there was some logic behind it. I just like to overly simplify things.Stargazer wrote:Sorry to make things difficult for you there Brad.50,000 square feet was the threshhold I generally used in justifying a dedicated thread for commercial structures.

Nice! I trie to take pictures today but after 3 p.m. the lighting was so poor.
Especially on an overcast day. Good job Brad!
I will have to make my Secretary look at weather.com before I schedule time off.

Those were about 4 pm today, I don't usually get off of work until 5, but I had today off so I was taking pictures while I was out running around.

3 is bad enough. 4 is twilight. I never thought about this until I started photographing.

That FNBP development is just getting more and more sharp & sleek. I have to say, that is one of my favorite areas of Omaha -- along with downtown. Driving along Dodge, it is so pleasing seeing high-tech, creative, sharp office buildings perched on hills, backed by huge, brick McMansions with huge, arched windows, high, steep gables, and massive, lofty chimneys. I always think: "Who says Nebraskans don't live well?"
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.

You know, that's something I noticed a while back... apparently at some point in time, home builders stopped putting 'real' chimneys on more moderately priced homes (they went from brick, to wood, to nothing at all... I realize it's not really needed with a majority of gas log users, but to me it's a big aesthetic appeal). I'm proud to say, I have a towering, Chicago brick chimney.lofty chimneys

^ Large, lofty chimneys always make a home look more like a "manor." I love 'em, too.
If I owned a home with one, though, I would make sure that my shelter area for a tornado was away from it. Even in a basement under a table, a collapsing massive, heavy chimney would be something very threatening.

It looks like a new office building will go up in between the Bank of the West building on the west and the University of Phoenix building on the east.
