1507 Farnam

I visited this interesting night spot last night. It is 7 weeks old and the type of establishment, I feel, that we need to support in downtown O. Bring $$, my martini was 12.50 and dress sharp.

Okay... being a long time family man now... I don't know much about local bars/lounges any more... but isn't that, or did that used to be the Junction? Or is it now just the '1507' ?

I think I've heard of this "1507". What's it like BlueSky? And where exacly is it? I've looked for it as I drive out Farnam Street, but I've never actually seen it.

I heard this place was real ritzy. I can't drink so it will be awhile before I can visit. I read a review of the place and it sounded like it was on the 2nd level of someplace.

Streets: The location is on the south side of Farnam, in between 15th and 16th. It is nondescript on the outside, but the address is definitley there. For a description I would use the words modern and minimalist. The u shaped bar is concrete, but past the bar are substantially sized rooms that reach into the recess of the building. Sofas, low profile seating and side tables fill the back rooms. This may sound wierd, but the bathrooms are the best I've seen in town. The water feature seperating the main area from the bathrooms is a nice touch. While there were a few gay people, the majority were straight with an even mix of women and men. The atmosphere is one in which all people are welcome, although I felt underdressed.

Does anyone else find it ironic that they are trying to have an upscale lounge between a boarded-up building and low-income housing?

No, not really. This is exactly how NYC neighborhoods like SoHo and DUMBO got to be such desireable and hip places to live. It sounds like the budding of a little gentrification in this corner of downtown.
