Texas Roadhouse

A friend heard from an employee in the Pepperwood strip mall on Dodge (near Baker's) that the restaraunt going up in the pad in the parking lot is going to be a Texas Roadhouse. Can anybody confirm this?

AS per thier web site they are listed as OPENING SOON. Based on the other information it will be after teh end of Feb at the soonest. They have other locations listed with openings by month tought FEB in another area of their site.

My bet 95% +

Everone is always eating out. they are kid frendly. fairly price competative, and familier to the traveling community.

OF course we may always need a new gas station and the % could go down !!!!

I just ate at this place about a month ago down in Yuma, AZ. Very good food! They have this cinnamon cream cheese for the bread they put out before the meal which is delicious. I could almost fill up on it.

If anything, it's the long time steakhouses that feel the pinch from places like this, but with Omaha growing and people dining out more frequently as Mr. bugeater pointed out, there's probably room for everybody.

I've eaten in many across Texas. They cook a good steak and the atmosphere is fun. It will be a good addition even if it is a franchise.

bubba gump and joes crab shack are both great places to eat, i wonder why there isnt a joes in omaha. Des Moines has one, i want one too!

Back in high school a lot of people wore t-shirts from a Joe's Crab Shack somewhere. It always listed the city which the restaraunt was located on the t-shirt if I'm not misaken. I've always wanted a restaraunt in Omaha that it was cool to wear t-shirts from....besides Hooters.

and if i thought it couldnt get any worse, i just drove by it at night this time, and it definitely sticks out. I dont think they could have more neon and lights facing the building. Im surprised there arent more drivers getting in accidents from the blinding lights. I bet the people who live near there are pretty angry with those lights shining right into their windows. Although i did like the new WBank building right across the street. The accent lighting on it works really well with the arched windows.

Another example of a building out of place with its neighbors. Welcome to Omaha. If you want to build something new we don't ask questions, we just issue the permit.

A big ugly billboard would go kinda nice next to this place.

BAH... once again, it's a theme restaurant people. And I actually like the gaudy neon on the Texas Roadhouse better than the crappy looking Westroads Bank logo on an otherwise nice looking suburban office building.

Well actually I don't mind. I am pro-Bush though.

I think it is a great concept. When people think of Texas they have a perception that it is all one big stockyards (a few blocks of Fort Worth is, but this is obviously not true) so a steakhouse would be right up our alley.

I like the buffalo bread they serve on the menu of the Texas locations.

How did this thread get here from a Texas Roadhouse start?

Anyway, to get back on track my family was able to go last Saturday night and partake in a complementary dinner for four there in their final pre open training. I was traveling and not able to attend but they said it was great and they had a good time and enjoyed the atmosphere. I have eaten at the chain when on the road and I would agree with the details of both assessments.

I will not go into the how I got this opportunity, which is another complete story that will derail the thread. All I will say is that my experience is that there is great customer service with this chain. (There was no problem with a meal or service at any location that got me invited)

Give them a try and let us know here what you think of something inside the building. I know I will go there.

Went here a couple of weeks ago, and it definitely wasn't a humdrum place. We got some delicious buffalo wings as appetizers, and then I had their BBQ Chicken Breast which was pretty savory as well. Thumbs up for me. It's so Texas though... I definitely couldn't go there every night and watch all the waiters/waitresses line dance.
