A heads up on Omaha retail development!..

Post by Omaha Cowboy »

For those interested, this coming Saturday 05/28/05 on Jeff Beals' radio show 'Grow Omaha' airing at 8AM on 1290 KKAR:

'"Retail Growth in Omaha: The One-Year Anniversary of Village Pointe" with Don La Chere and Kim Jones of RED Development'..

There may be some inside scoop info on this show..

Additionally, Jeff writes another enlightening column on the explosion of retail growth and development in Omaha over the past 18 months in his latest column for the Omaha City-Weekly:

Several chains are
rumored to be considering the Omaha market including Jimmy John’s, Granite City, On the Border, the Cheesecake Factory and others.

Great article. More retail on 192 & Center?.. on top of Legacy going through 2 more phases? What's next.. a 1.2 million sq ft shopping center in Gretna? This is incredible stuff. Dodge will be booming as well with West Village Pointe and West Dodge Station getting underway. Just think, within the next 10 years... North Downtown could be done, a 'Plaza-like' area could blossom at 72nd, a pedestrian bridge with mid-rises will evolve on both sides of the river, an amusement park, Mutual of Omaha development, and potential new high-rises all over downtown. I know I'm leaving out a lot more, but I get shivers thinking about it.

I wonder if the new 1,500-2,000 job transfer move would be eluded to.

edited to add that yes, while this has nothing to do with RED, rumors spread quickly and he may also hint somewhere in the program.

Yep..This Saturday (05/28/05) at 8AM 1290 KKAR..

Been waiting to hear from some reps with RED. Hopefully we'll gain some new insights on retail for the Omaha metro. I know Jeff Beals will ask ALL the right questions..

Only if it is true and made official/public by the Omaha media outlets before this Saturday, I know Jeff would mention it on his show..He most likely wont make mention of a rumor

And if nothing is made public in the meantime, perhaps he heard something else on the grapevine he could share.

does anyone have/know jeff biels? If so could you recommend adding rss2.0 to the archives you know to get a little podcast action going. I never remember to turn on my stereo on Saturday mornings.

Possibly..But like I stated before, I doubt he'd make any mention of this unless it acually becomes official..

Regarding RED, he can ask all the right questions (which he will) that may lead to some 'heads-up' 'hint-hint' retail development I was eluding too in my previous posts..But the RED reps would be on the hook for the info, not Jeff..
