Civic Auditorium may be coming down soon

Another big high-rise may soon be rising in downtown Omaha, this one where the Civic Auditorium now stands. A real estate entrepreneur will be showing drawings of the $70-million high-rise he would build on the site at an upcoming city council meeting. Razing the Civic Auditorium would permit a multi level parking garage for the proposed tower, which will have residential, office and commercial components. The building, more than 40 stories tall, would also provide additional parking to address a shortage of parking in the downtown main core. The new structure will definately demonstrate real estate developer's faith in Downtown Omaha's future and would more than likely help revitalize the area with even more development.
