Today, I am so glad I voted for her. Now we get to see how she deals with the MECA mess.

This is more for the MECA thread, but regarding that issue, the city council sounds like it backs Gutierrez Mora. Stothert can't remove her without the city council's approval. In my opinion, unless something happens, the best shot at getting her removed would be voter fraud charges.

Not sure if this belongs here but OFD just settled a harassment lawsuit for $250,000 plus they have to employee the victim through the end of the year while she is on administrative leave. It seems like this happens a lot with OFD and OPD. What is going on there where these men can't treat the women they work with respectfully? The city is not admitting any fault in this particular case but $250K seems like a lot to pay out if there is nothing there and us taxpayers get to share in the burden.

Yeah not admitting fault but according to article ‘ However, the agreement states that an independent administrative investigation into Mathieu’s complaints confirmed that violations of Omaha Fire Department policy occurred.’

Also ‘She will be placed on administrative leave until December and be paid her full salary and benefits. When the administrative leave ends, the agreement stipulates that Mathieu must voluntarily resign, although she can apply to be rehired.’
