Demolition at 74th and Dodge

Does anyone know what is going on with the old Stero West building at 74 and Dodge. They started tearing it down, but I have not heard anything about it except the DMV has also moved out of that building.

I hope they make that shopping plaza more user friendly with the Lowes Property to the west.

Truth be known... there are probably more cars/people going through this area every day than ever before. Consider all the new developments which have gone in on the south side of Dodge and just west of Crossroads. While Crossroads has struggled, the retail/restaurants around it have done great.

They are demolishing the building to put up a new strip center. I'm not sure if they sign is still there, but they've had a sign up for a while showing the new design (which isn't anything special). I believe that it's a Grubb Ellis Pacific Realty development.

Yeah I saw this a few days ago and was going to comment on it. Lets rip out a strip center and replace it with.... a strip center.

How bout shops with apartments or something above them. Come on people.

Is this near the old, now closed, douglas county office?

Yes, I belive that the Douglas County Treasurer was housed in the building that is being torn down along with Stereo West

I never looked to see if they were the same building or they just backed up to each other.
