It would seem Mr. Beals is indeed a fan of the site... and thought it would make for an interesting topic for one of their shows. I guess that remains to be seen! We'll probably spend most of the show talking about the very topics we're discussing right here now.

In Part I of this week's show, we're going to talk about the "Official Coffee Table Book of Omaha." Atlanta- based Riverbend Books is working with the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce to develop one of the biggest community picture books ever published. When it comes out in November, it will be 512 pages and one- and-a-half inches thick. Our guests will be Renee Peyton, Senior Project Director for Riverbend Books and Karla Ewert, Vice President of Communication at the Chamber.

In the second half of the show, we're going to examine the role of neighborhoods in Omaha's economic development. Specifically, we'll learn about The Neighborhood Center for Greater Omaha, a program designed to strengthen neighborhoods throughout Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties.

Our guest will be Ron Abdouch, Executive Director of The Neighborhood Center for Greater Omaha. Before taking his current job, Ron was Director of Drug Free Schools and Mentoring at Westside Community Schools.'..

Congressman Lee Terry will join us for an hour-long discussion of Economic Development. Be sure to tune in Saturday morning for his insight into national economic and political issues and how they affect growth and development here in Omaha.

Lee Terry was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1998, representing Nebraska's Second District. Before he came to Congress, Lee Terry served as president of the Omaha City Council for two years and vice president for two years. He was also a four-year member of the Omaha/Douglas County Public Building Commission. Congressman Terry currently serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees telecommunications, energy, finance, trade, consumer protection, and business-related legislative issues. He is the first Nebraskan to serve on that committee in 24 years.

A lifetime Nebraskan, Congressman Terry has always been involved in political and charitable activities in Nebraska. He was a member of the board of directors of the American Diabetes Association and represented the Great Plains Region. He hosts an annual golf tournament, Swing for a Cure, to benefit the ADA. Congressman Terry received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton University Law School in 1987. He and his wife, Robyn, have three sons: Nolan, Ryan, and Jack.'..

1. Warren Buffett walking into his office building on Farnam
2. row upon row of telemarketers
3. housing in Blackstone, Bemis Park, 32nd and Pacific with residents in the photos
4. medical students and staff crossing 42nd Street
5. perspectives of hills in East Omaha
6. Old Market at night
7. the "gentlemen's club" on North 24th Street
8. women with strollers on Vinton Street
9. folks going in and out of the Radial Cafe

What photos would you like to see?

-A line of people on 13th Street outside of Sokol Auditorium wating for a show in the best music scene in the country.

-Businesspeople lunching outside the First National Tower downtown.

-Jazz at Mr. Toads.

-Art-lovers wandering the Joslyn.

-Coffee-Drinkers in Delice.

-Music aficionados perusing Drastic Plastic, Homers, or the Antiquarium.

-Antique/vintage shoppers in Second Chance.

Well thanks guys... I feel like my nerves got the better of me... I'm anxious to hear what I sounded like (Jeff Beals, if you're watching... have Trenton load up that show tape onto the growomaha website... pronto!

). As Jeff Beals said it would... the time went really fast. I would have liked to have covered more. For example, I will mention to them (if they don't already read it here) that they have Eric Miller on, sometime when he is in town, to talk about Omaha Street Car.

Yeah I crawled my tired |expletive| out of bed to hear you make an a** of yourself Jeff.

You did fine. Although I think more people would way rather have an amusement park over the CF. Also there were a couple of times when you used E site lingo that might have thrown some people. Also good job on the KC jabs. I luvd it.

I also went to the site and listened to the show. Jeff, you did a great job. You were very prepared and it was impressive how you were not only able to intelligently discuss everything the hosts brought up, but you also had the examples, locations, etc.
