Market coming to Capitol District.

Post by Ocean575 »

Modern Urban take on the general store coming to Capitol District. Butcher shop-luncheonette-beer and wine-produce-grab and go meals.

First of its kind in Omaha. Really cool stuff and glad new stuff is happening in this city.

First comparable I thought of was Elm City Market in New Haven, CT. (minus the co-op part, of course)

There will be breakfast. The luncheonette counter will allow you to sit and eat, also looking like there will be fresh grab and go options, like hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeals, etc.
Dinner also looks like they will be offering take home family dinners. Ready to eat chef prepared whole meals.
This is what dowmtown has always needed. Really excited.

Best guess is on the north end of the 12th street retail (red circle), next to the BurgerIM (greenish circle).

Okay, just walked past here. BurgerIM is one more set of windows to the left. Leaving 3 windows for the possible market. In the meantime, Lighthouse Pizza opened... only to have some water damage from the apartment above. They'll clean it up and be open tomorrow, I'm sure.

Yes it looks like right around there. I was told the corner ofthat picture will be the market entrance. 4500 ft2 going from the corner to burger im and lighthouse to the other side. Pretty big foot print.

Thats a pretty cool name. Reminds me of Caviar and Bananas in Charleston. Anymore specifics about who and what made this happen.

The 10th st project was a non starter. Sounds like he is teaming up to be a part of Market in Capitol. Is it just a butcher shop though? What/who else will be in the market.
