I am so glad that Planet Fitness is going in there. That should help "liven things up" in the area. That Baker's Plaza is so dreary. It so needs a remodel.

Remodel or not, that plaza has something great: I have to say that HONG HING restaurant is the best. I love that place, and we would meet family friends there all the time. I even went there before leaving Omaha to get my one last bite...

Just wanted to second your comment. Hong Hing is the one bright light in this rejuvenating area.

Good news though about the redevelopment of the empty department store. I was thinking, the last time I was visiting Hong Hing, that this general area needs more family friendly entertainment options.

Yes, I've noticed the "perfect opportunity" to expand with those empty slots next to them, but they just don't. They also don't open a 2nd location across town. I'm not sure why. I do know that Asian people have a sort of smart reputation in making sharp & smart & timely business & financial decisions, though, so maybe it is just not 100% right at this moment. Maybe this is a good business lesson to learn.... (I've thought about all this before regarding them, even when back in Omaha.) Oh, that egg foo whatever it is, with that peanut sauce! Their little fried dumplings...whatever they are... Food moist & fresh, but not soppy. HONG HING: I think I love you.

Yeah, they can fill up their restaurant from lunch to dinner. I have been there later in the afternoon on a weekday and they were still about half full. I think with additional marketing, which I think is non-existent right now, they could do much better. In any case, they are a boon for this complex, in my humble opinion, and works well with the Bakers. Hopefully, with some redevelopment, Hong Hing will garner further fans and added business that will prompt an expansion.

Right. I'm a firm believer in advertising. If even McDonald's continues to do it, then that shows how essential it is.
