Unless the market is oversold or there are drastic production cuts, oil prices falling over 7% on Friday will support further reductions in gas prices.

I filled up at Sams club with membership in Lincoln for 1.94 in the middle of the week. For some reason it was a full 0.20 less than anywhere else. Usually not this big a gap.

Just a note to advise that in neighboring countries the cost of fuel is much higher than in the US. Last week I noted the cost of a litre of gasoline was about M$21 in México. That’s well over US$4 per gallon.

Gasoline futures jumped $.20 today in reaction to the attacks on oil production facilities in Saudi Arabia. It may be wise to fuel your vehicles up before pump prices follow.

IIRC from my high school accounting and business classes (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong)... You can value inventory three ways:
1. How much what you have on hand cost you.
2. The cost of what it would take to replace what you had on hand.
3. The average of 1 and 2.
You can do any of those but you have to pick one and stick with it. Gas stations seem to opt for #2 which is why somebody farts in the Middle East at 1:00 PM and by 1:15 PM gas at the pump in Nebraska has gone up a dime.

I am actually surprised. I filled up both mine and my wife's car yesterday thinking that gas prices would substantially go up by the end of the day, but even as of this morning, most stations are still $2.29.

It also helps that oil prices are down nearly 6% so far today.

But with my fuel saver points, I filled the tank for only $1.86 a gallon. I’ll take it...

I am going to predict that gas prices could get back up to $4 or $5 dollars this year more then likely long before the main elections in the fall. When the Iranians say they are going to get even with us I don't have to think to hard to guess what they have in mind. They are going to disturb the flow of oil and drive up the prices so we all feel the pain. They will blow up some wells or refineries in Saudi Arabia or start blowing up oil tankers in the Gulf. The only question is when are they going to do it.

This prices are low compared to here. I paid 2.24 at Costco this afternoon and they are about 20-24 cents cheaper than the other gas stations

When the news broke about the attack in the middle east, it seemed like most stations bumped their prices, but by Saturday evening most of them backed off. This morning, both the I-80 Gretna-Millard "corridor" and the Fort St. stations were $2.29-ish and the pressure appears to be downward, at least for now.

I filled for 1.45 in Fremont today on my way to deliver groceries to parents in their 80's . The fourth weekend for this and I am sure it will continue. Strange to do off their items at their front door and not go in.

Wow! I paid a little over a dollar in 1994 when I left Omaha. That's incredible how close it is to that price in 2020.

QT and Shell are the same way. Millard area seems to be the lowest. For every mile you drive east along Q, the price goes up a dime.

Some good news at the gas pumps:

Tax break on gasoline coming for Nebraska motorists

Beginning Jan. 1, the state's tax rate on motor fuels will be 24.8 cents per gallon for the first six months of 2022, the Nebraska Department of Revenue reported on Tuesday. That is a decrease of almost 3 cents a gallon from the 27.7 cents per gallon charged during the past six months.

Nebraska's tax on gasoline and other fuels is adjusted every six months, based partly on total tax receipts and revenue needs for highway maintenance and construction. When the total tax collected on fuel rises, and meets or exceeds revenue needs, the tax is adjusted downward.

These high gas prices really got to be putting a huge strain on a lot of people’s finances. Not only is it costing more to fill your tank, it’s driving up the prices of everything else. I guess that’s the cost of losing our energy independence.

I tend to shrug off gas prices. High gas prices have never stopped anyone from continuing to buy full-size SUVs and pick-up trucks to shuttle around town in. High gas prices don't seem to reduce the number of cars out in the evenings and on the weekends doing completely unnecessary stuff. Gas prices are one of those things everyone loves to complain about, but no matter how high they get nobody seems to modify their behavior much. They could charge $5/gallon and I'd still be 15 cars deep at a red light on Friday night. Now, does it eat up some of their disposable income so they don't have as much to spend on other things? Probably. However, that doesn't seem to convince anyone to drive less or plan their routes better.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but when it comes to gas prices, they can only get higher as time goes on. We are predicted to run out of oil around 2060. I highly question myself if I want to be around to see that. We thought 2020 was bad, I believe running out of gas will be 10x worse.

I believe 2060 is considered Peak Oil which is where production will begin to taper off and may take many decades to reach zero. 2060 is not when there will be zero oil. That's just one estimate too. There are many others from various sources. Those predictions are notoriously bad. Back in the 1970s we were suppose to hit Peak Oil in the 1990s. Obviously, that did not happen. Is there a finite amount of oil in the ground? Yes. Will we hit Peak Oil at some point? Yes. Will it be 2060? Likely not.
