This is a little different from the other one posted as it shows the U shaped apt building, still not sure there is anything more up to date.

Yeah given how it shows the condo towers compared to the renderings we have this must still be fairly out of date

Actually I think the rendering is mostly accurate still. The condo towers are still planned in that same area and everything else except the 2nd office building is already under construction.

Yep everything is going up pretty much the same. For what its worth I run by here frequently (most recently last night) and this is the same rendering still posted on site.

An Ohio-based tech company plans to open an office at the River's Edge development in Council Bluffs.

Pillar Technology, an information technology consulting firm from Columbus, Ohio, will occupy 8,000-square feet in the first office building in the mixed-use River's Edge development, according to the company, City of Council Bluffs and Advance Southwest Iowa Corporation.

Pillar operates The Forge, its "unique, energy-driven, integrated workspace," in Des Moines, Columbus, Ohio, Palo Alto, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan, according to a release.

The partners on the project said that over the coming weeks, the Council Bluffs City Council, Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors and the Iowa Economic Development Board of Directors will vote on a total of $1.3 million dollars in incentives, "an economic investment intended to fuel Pillar’s decision to locate in the region."

If approved, Pillar would commit to creating 30 new full-time IT positions over the next seven years and move into the building’s third floor in the first quarter of 2019.

The River’s Edge development apartments and townhomes will be available for lease in the fall.

Bob Stratton, project manager with Broadmoor Apartments, said the company will continue to manage the River’s Edge apartments and townhomes once they become available for lease.

The projected completion date has not been set. However, the first phase of construction will open 193 of the 290 units in the fall, he said.

An article on morningsky referenced the Moselle residences as "under construction". Is this true? I thought they were waiting to see what demand was like.

I scrolled back a couple pages and didnt see the link to the condo website, so apologies if this has been posted before:

There is also a link on the MLS for the $2.25M penthouse unit:

Not sure if that had been posted, thanks. Going to be really interesting to see if the condo market is back at all with this project.

Just went over the pedestrian bridge for the first time in awhile and I was amazed at how much work they've already done. To be honest its going to be better than our riverfront since ours is so empty right now.

Its true, Council Bluffs is going to have a better riverfront then Omaha and they are going to make Omaha pay for it. :lafcry:

It's looking great! Haven't been down to the riverfront in a while. It will be nice to have something else to look at and go to after crossing Big Bob.

As I was driving home on Friday, I noticed that those apartments/condos (green insulation currently) instead of having nice view of the Omaha skyline will get to look at the parking garage to the west. Who planned that?

I think the whole placement of the parking garage is terrible. Are they going to put anything between the garage and the interstate? It looks bad to see that giant concrete structure sticking out so much.

Yeah, no idea why it's the location it's in. I wonder if they were trying to mute any noise from concerts at the amphitheater.

Excited about that condo. Should be the tallest building in CB and southwest Iowa when completed. In fact it should be the tallest in Western Iowa . Don’t believe Sioux City has any 15 story buildings, just some 12 story ones.

The office building is official open. Apparently, apartments are beginning to be occupied as well. There is an article with lots of pictures of the empty floors. Too bad one of the potential tenants fell through:

A newly installed sculpture in Council Bluffs may not have its head in the clouds, but it's not for a lack of effort.

The 33-foot-tall sculpture, made from crushed aluminum foil, roasting pans and baking tins, stands in Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park. The humanoid figure faces the Omaha skyline with its head looking up to the sky.

The piece, designed by Tom Friedman in 2015, will stay in the Bluffs until May 2020, according to Pottawattamie Arts, Culture and Entertainment, or PACE. Identical statues currently stand on the Chicago lakefront — following a stint on Park Avenue in New York City — and Austin, Texas.

Wow, I can't believe how much they are building over there now.

Here's an aerial (likely from a drone) towards Council Bluffs, and you can see the beginnings of the Playland Park area: https://www.staffordorthodontics.com/as ... poster.jpg Love hazy summer days in NE/IA!
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.

As of 8pm tonight the river was 3 ft over flood stage. I drove over the downtown bridge today and you could see water everywhere on the Iowa side. Sadly there is a big problem with the river these days and the government officials appear be totally inept and unable to do anything about it. Trump is visiting Council Bluffs on Tuesday and if they are lucky maybe they can get his attention. As it stands right now the future of all the towns on the Iowa side appear to be shaky. The river today was up to the entrance of the Bob Kerry bridge. Water is backing up into houses in Council Bluffs through the sewer system and ground. It is almost like since Omaha has its side holding the water well whatever happens on the Iowa side is their tough luck and problem. That is not fair to Iowa.

Well, western Council Bluffs was built on the natural flood plain -- of course. I know its not fun for CB. A lot of Western IA towns are not snugly adjacent to the river, like CB. So, occasional flood problems are inevitable in that town. Still, not fun.

There is not enough time for that debate or solution. The only sure fix that will bring the quickest relief is the dikes must all be built up much higher and stronger.
To rebuild and repair all the damage on both sides of the river and cross your fingers that the river will not flood like this again is the definition of government stupidity and incompetency.

The “debate” shouldn’t be happening in the first place. The US is the only country that has a prominent political party who’s ideology is Climate Change Denial, and that’s for good reason. If solutions could be implemented immediately we could have a chance. People don’t understand that we won’t be able to build dikes high enough to keep back all of the water when the river is unpredictable, as that’s what climate change leads to: unpredictable and enormous spikes in everything from temperature, to precipitation levels, to hurricanes and other weather event frequency. Plus you’re making American jobs in the process!😀
Anyway back to the topic. Sorry for my tangent

Well stated. I have lived in Omaha my whole life, and was born within a relative stone’s throw of the Missouri River. Before this decade I cannot ever recall the river flooding with regularity. We are now in our second major flood THIS YEAR. Roads that were just rebuilt are again under water.
This isn’t our fathers or grandfathers climate. Clearly climate change is the biggest threat to our national security. Even the Pentagon has stated this.

Has it fallen through?

I live across the street from its proposed location so excited to see what happens.
