Prairie Hollow (156 & Highway 36 - Bennington)

I couldn't find a thread specifically tied to development in Bennington, but I found this article that mentions a planned 80-Single family home subdivision, south of HWY 36 and east of 156th. The name is Prairie Hollows. The article also mentions the auctioning off of their city building.

hah, my house is somewhere in the 4th photo (which covers a lot of Bennington 'proper').

I always told myself I'd move close to the Omaha core when the kids were gone... some how ended up even farther away. It's actually a great area, quick to 680 via 36/Blair High Rd... very little traffic along the way. I was actually surprised how much residential there is north of Maple/Fort up this direction... almost seems like more than southwest Omaha... additional retail has GOT to be coming to support it, presumably somewhere along 156th or Highway 36.

I was up in this area this fall for the first time in several years. I was surprised how many new homes are here as well. The terrain is attractive with rolling hills and some groves of trees. I hope some of the natural look can be saved and it doesn’t all become massive suburbia.

I know a brand new Casey’s General Store recently opened along 156th street.. just south of the 156th and State St intersection..

I have a good friend who lives in the subdivision just west of 156th and State and he and his family were all pretty excited about the Casey’s opening in the area...

That Casey’s is busy at all times of the day. On the weekend you have to call ahead 2+ hours if you want a pizza. You could say the area is ripe for retail development...
