Coventry - Development at 207th and Q

Recently cleared land and construction underway at southwest corner of 204th and Q, specifically 207th between Q and V. Not only have they put up the silt fence but are adding chain link fence around the site. Any ideas?

Thanks for the note, I'm very familiar with what's going on with shopping, theater, and housing but the location I mentioned is far away from there and looks to have much tighter "security" with the chain link fence going up.

So, I can't say "I love the new proposed downtown skyscraper!" with simply just a rendering/drawing released of it online or on the front page of the OWH? And, not with the ground barely moved around, or not broken yet? So, it has to be entirely built & finished, and all ground work finished, something tangible I can see/feel/touch, or walk through and experience face-to-face, before I'm allowed to sing the design praises, huh?

Of course my little, excited "squeal of glee" is caused by the rendering. The theater looks very sharp, imo.

Movie theatres are built to be thoroughly used by customers. Are the ticketing lines short? How about the concessions? Is there a good mix of food, at less than outrageous prices? How are the drinks handled? Is there a water station? Are the restrooms clean? And how about the auditoriums? Is there noise bleed between auditoriums? Are there a nice mix of larger and smaller auditoriums? Is the place kept clean or are you sitting on someone else’s popcorn and sticking to spilled soda pop when you sit down.
Those are considerations that make or break a cinema complex. I think convenient parking is a given in this town.
None of those things are relevant to anyone viewing an office building as you whiz by it. Then it is more a matter of either liking or disliking the building exterior, with no consideration given to the functionality, fit or finish of the interior.

I 100% agree with this. I’ll reserve judgement on how much I like a movie theatre once I actually view a movie there and take in the entire experience- inside and out.. With an emphasis on what goes on inside...

The chained fenced off area that they put up off 207th and Q is going to be 200ish unit apartment complex that runs along 207th street just south of Q to U street that goes into the Coventry neighborhood. The east side of the land is going to be mixed retail/business development. This is being done by the same developer that is doing the movie theater side, so it is part of the 207th between Harrison/Q street discussion thread

They have started construction on the movie theater structure today. They are putting up the concrete wall sections now as well as have the steel trusses on the ground as well to put in.

I noticed today on the real estate sales site, that the site plan lists a First Nebraska Bank next to the pond, and across the street, right on the corner of 204th and George B Lake Parkway is a HyVee Fast & Fresh
